  1. Not at all. Mike Smith has been pretty much the hottest goaltender in the NHL, and the Hawks historically struggle against Phoenix I believe. My early prediction is Yotes in 7, only because I can't see them closing out the Hawks at the UC. Edit: Last 3 seasons against Phoenix 2012 1-3-0 2011 2-2-0 2010 1-2-1 Total 4-7-1
  2. Think about how much more fun the last 2 games would have been with Cespedes belting HRs into the wind. We might still be 0-2 but we'd have something exciting to talk about
  3. And its official. 3 Phoenix Coyotes vs. 6 Chicago Blackhawks 4 Nashville Predators vs. 5 Detroit Red Wings We know those 2 series for sure. The 1,2,7,8 seeds can still change
  4. 4-1 Phoenix 3 minutes into the 3rd....
  5. The thing that disappoints me about Cespedes is that it wasn't like he just signed with the Marlins because Miami's large Cuban population provided a comfort zone. Supposedly he actually wanted to join the Cubs and gave us every chance to sign him but we couldnt match Oaklands (admittely high) offer. I can understand the reasoning, but we spent so much time scouting the guy and obviously wanted him. If he does turn into a star, its gonna be quite frustrating for Cubs fans.
  6. Yotes up 2-0 after 1 period. Better start reading up on Phoenix. They are a good team that gives us problems but I think we have a shot at beating them.
  7. Pacers pretty much owned that game start to finish. :hello: I really like Paul George a lot. Agreed.
  8. Remember that month that Hee Seop Choi had after we traded him away for Lee? Or that one month where Chris Shelton had that made it so I could easily recall his name 6 years later?
  9. Remember how unbelievably unhittable Marmol was in 2007 and 2008? His pitches did things that baseballs aren't supposed to do. It was so enjoyable to watch him pitch his inning with complete confidence that not only was he going to get 3 straight outs but he was going to make all 3 batters look silly in the process.
  10. Probably premature but who would be our next best closing option?
  11. So our 1st round opponent is still up on the air. Making things confusing, LA and SJ are playing each other tonight. If Phoenix wins in any way, it's simple. Hawks vs. Yotes I. round 1. If the Coyotes lose, it gets confusing. PHX regulation loss: winner of SJ/LA is division winner and plays Hawks. PHX OT/SO loss: If LA beats SJ, LA is the 3 seed. If SJ beats LA, I believe PHX wins division. I'm probably missing something
  12. Perfect. Hawks get the win but don't have to play Nashville.
  13. Did the Hawks "concede" that? I started panicking when I saw they were up with 90 secs left.
  14. Sadly they stopped that segment a year ago I think. Now they just do 'come on man'. ESPN: We were for violence before we were against it. Now NFL Films needs to go back and edit all the times it glorified monster hits in a cinematically breathtaking manner. Instead of Butkus crushing somebody's spleen, they can show him leading a prayer. In related news, Butkus is now football's greatest monster for the jarring number of big hits that defined his career.
  15. Do you mean the Target ad? I think the Target logo is where the Under Armor logo used to be.
  16. Just FYI, but supposedly the reports from the other day that he decided to enter the draft were debunked by Belein. I'm not naive enough to think that the reports don't have some level of truth to them, but it's not considered official yet.
  17. I havent followed the last few pages of the 11-12 thread, but has anyone seen any "early top 25"s for next year?
  18. yes but one less round of Foley. I dont know I go both ways. On one hand its nice to listen to the home guys you've heard all year. But on the other hand, the national broadcasts just seem bigger, and more like playoff games IMO.
  19. Agreed about Nashville, but their chances are much higher than 0% to beat some of those other teams.
  20. Wait, why wasn't Garza the opening day starter? Not that it matters much, just wondering.
  21. Thought this was an interesting schedule quirk: In the Bulls last 14 games, their opponent was on the 2nd night of a back to back 11 times. In that same span, the Bulls have played just 2 back to backs.
  22. Are you eager to get the season over with since you're already certain the Hawks are losing in the 1st round?
  23. Who the hell is Shawn Camp? Granted I didnt pay much attention to spring training, but I usually have at least heard of people who are on the active roster.
  24. Here's how Saturday shakes out: -Hawks win in regulation: Hawks 101 points, 39 regulation wins, 10 points vs. Wings Wings 101 points, 39 regulation wins, 4 points vs. Wings Result: 4 Nashville vs. 5 Chicago -Hawks win in OT or shootout Wings 102 points Hawks 101 points Result: 3 Pacific winner vs. 6 Chicago -Hawks lose in regulation, OT or shootout: Wings 103 points Hawks 99 or 100 points Result: 3 Pacific winner vs. 6 Chicago
