  1. Damn that's really impressive. 2012 NL Cy Young Award goes to Ryan Dempster 0-11 1.78 ERA 250 IP
  2. Edit: I will say it was somewhat interesting data to read although I don't know what conclusions you can draw for it.
  3. Why the heck would the Rockets give up Lowry Scola and Martin and only get back Hibbert and filler? Plus Houston has been salivating over Gasol for years. I can't see a scenario where Houston is involved in a trade for Gasol and not being the ones getting him.
  4. ESPN did a Future Rankings for the NFL similar to the NBA ones they've done for a couple of years. The Bears finished 17th with the biggest things hurting them being ratings for the Front Office, the Draft and the Roster (primarily due to the age of most of the starters). It's insider so here's what was said: In case you were curious here is the ranking for selected teams: 1) Packers 2) Patriots 3) Giants 4) 49ers 5) Steelers 6) Lions 7) Eagles 8) Saints 9) Texans 10) Ravens 17) Bears 18) Broncos 30) Jaguars 31) Vikings 32) Browns
  5. Well it's probably also a problem to get Deron to choose Indiana over the same offer in Brooklyn, Dallas, etc. On a related note, isn't there an ongoing rumor that the Pacers and Eric Gordon have mutual interest. They obviously have the cap space for him but do they have the aforementioned revenue for him?
  6. This is definitely vintage Wade tonight. As much as I hate him, I cant help but enjoy this performance just a little bit as a basketball fan. He's beating his man and getting into the lane every single possession. Edit: Of course that just means he's being a little bitch complaining to the refs every single time he gets in the lane whether or not he makes the shot.
  7. We should totally just shut Shark down right now and do his Tommy John surgery now so he doesn't have to get it done in a year we actually need him.
  8. Good thing there are years beyond this one. Dude 12/21/12
  9. Well in their defense they've been nearing the one month mark of their fandom. Also all they are left with is bitching since their team can't go after Kopitar or Doughty and looking to launch themselves at them while they aren't playing the puck and their head is down.
  10. Yeah it's just too bad his team can't hit or play defense to help him out so he'll pitch fantastically and lose when his only ERs are from 2 players colliding with each other trying to catch a popup.
  11. Well your mind was wrong because he made it to 3rd.
  12. Does Koyie Hill have any hitting ability at all? How about plate discipline? They were trying to pitch around him and he swung at 4 straight pitches, all of them balls and a couple way outside. It looked like he was closing his eyes and swinging, begging for something good to happen.
  13. Can Barney get charged with earned runs? This sucks...we already scored our run for the game.
  14. cue AramisFan's "this only happens to the Cubs" banter
  15. That had to have been a joke. I mean who in their right mind could vote for Carlos Boozer as one of the 10 best defenders in the NBA?
  16. towel drill
  17. Hard not to love Todd Walker. The only thing bad about him is that he indirectly led to Kevin Gregg.
  18. In the event of a tie, the winner of last year's cup retains. Cool...one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. At least use run differential or something.
  19. So wait I saw a picture in the Red Eye with the White Sox holding the BP Cup. The BP Cup is the most pointless thing ever but I am wondering what bizarre rules allow them to award the trophy with only half the games played. BTW the Cubs are now 3-9-4 in season series against the White Sox since interleague play started.
  20. 6 game losing streak and Kerry Wood retires, welcome home!
  21. Complaining to people from Chicago after the injury filled year we just had is not going to get you any pity.
  22. Not that he expected to come through everytime but after all I've read about Paul being super clutch he looked anything but in the last 2 minutes. A should have been turnover, an actual turnover a wild circus shot that actually went backwards and a missed runner off the front rim were 4 of the last 5 clippers possessions by Paul (the 5th was Paul drawing a foul and hitting 2 FTs) Oh well I was hoping at least one of these 2 west series would turn out to be interesting.
  23. Nice little 6-18 record in our last 24 games against the White Sox.
  24. I have nothing but Rizzo to look forward to until September ugh. Sports hibernation.
  25. Yes. The reason Maddux has his number retired by the Cubs is because Fergie wore that number too and given the fact that Maddux was one of the top 10 pitchers ever and had recently played for the Cubs it would have been weird to retire Fergies number and not acknowledge Maddux as well. At least that's my theory.
