  1. Sweet the offense that finished 16th in the NFL in points that year. OK they did finish 2nd in total yards so it was probably just Jay Cutler turning it over in the red zone a lot.
  2. Wow the Rangers are absolutely dominating the Caps down the stretch nursing a 1 goal lead in game 7. The Rangers have been in their offensive zone almost the entire last 8 minutes, and Washington, desperately needing a goal have gotten almost no offensive chances....even with 6 attackers they couldnt get anything going. That made for a very disappointing last 8 minutes as it never seemed like the Capitals had a chance despite being down only 1.
  3. This stat doesn't really mean anything, but that's a 34.50 ERA in his bad innings and a 1.90 ERA in all other innings.
  4. Oh well at least I got the Bu-- Aww motherfuck
  5. If I told you that Zambrano's ERA+WHIP=3, then how would you feel? Oh, and his last start was a CG SHO He could pitch perfect games every game for the entire season while the person we got for him comes into our clubhouse and injects HGH into every player on the team and I'd still be ok with it. Z just had to go and any random career renaissance would have been way too unlikely for the Cubs to predict before trading him.
  6. Well I guess it would have to be Soto or Castillo to pitch, unless a pitcher plays in the field...I'd think the Cubs would rather have someone like Maholm or Volstad go rather than use a position player to pitch. Whoever is on their throwing day.
  7. You know that Theo doesn't actually play in the games right?
  8. Actually, cancel my first question....who would be the funniest position player to come on and pitch if this game gets long enough? I think mine would be Soriano or Geo.
  9. Starlin hasn't looked very good at all tonight
  10. Anyone want to speculate which position player we might be able to go with if this game keeps going on?
  11. Did that "bunt contest" in spring training really occur? Was that the most pointless use of time ever?
  12. As opposed to putting Kerry Wood or Lendy Castillo out there?
  13. Yeah its not looking good. Especially when you walk the leadoff man. Especially when that leadoff man is Ceasar .290 OBP Izturis
  14. Why not Russell for closer? Or is he too much of a matchups guy?
  15. It's funny how many games our pitchers keep us in as we struggle to score 3 runs a game and then when we explode for 7 runs we end up in extra innings.
  16. Corey Hart fouls off several 2 strike pitches before putting one in play. This is what happens when your closer doesn't miss bats. I like Dolis but I don't like him as the closer.
  17. Carlos Marmol pitching = bad news this year even if he doesnt finish the crappiness he starts.
  18. Does Marmol ever NOT go 2-0 to the first hitter?
  19. What the [expletive]??? Someone get this dude a stack of playboys so he can read the articles.
  20. I don't loathe Philly at all....kinda would be nice to see Doug Collins win, but Philly is terrible so there's no way they win more than another game maybe. Boston is Boston but its possible they have a chance of beating Miami so can't really root against them. Indiana sucks but not that much. Miami is the devil. Bottom line, I don't care enough to root for or against any of them.
  21. Holy [expletive]. He looks nothing like I expected without his dreads. When Peanut cut his I still recognized his face but not Devin.
  22. Probably just because Cubs fans do get off on that stop to get to Wrigley. Not nearly as many, but I'm pretty sure they promote that as a Wrigley stop so there isn't so much overflow at the Addison stop. Anyways, I'm sure Tom and Crane took this as a big strike against their vision. The Cubs would love more control over how many night/weekend night games they have, and Tunney seems like he won't budge at all. Plus the Cubs want to use Sheffield as a pre and post game gathering spot and it looks like Tunney wants to limit that. That could mean limit to night games, that could mean limit to weekend games or that could be limited to a select few games. The Cubs want it for all games. Tunney should stick it up his ass. The Cubs are the main reason why his ward is half as prosperous as it is. He's just being a little bitch about things because he can.
  23. Is there a downpour heading our way that I'm not aware of? Yes. It's called the back end of the Braves bullpen. Rumor had it it's pretty awesome. Was it awesome last night when we tacked on 4 insurance runs? 2+4=5? OK 3 insurance runs
