  2. Already looking for more help at DT I see
  3. Also, going by this standard, Fred Lynn doesn't belong on the list, because he played 15 games in '74 Of course neither would Trout
  4. It's amazing how similar that looks to Trout's season so far. Less HR and RBI, but more runs and (i'm assuming) more SB. That probably has to do with the fact that the Angels have him leading off instead of middle of the order.
  5. Who would you say had the best offensive rookie season in MLB history? Without really doing a search I'd assume Fred Lynn or Ichiro because they won the MVP along with ROY but its possible if not probable that someone had a better season but wasn't given the award. Anyways... Fred Lynn 1975: 605 PA - .331/.401/.566/.967 162 OPS+, 21 HR, 105 RBI, 10SB-5CS, 103 R, 47 2B, 7.1 WAR Ichiro 2001: 738 PA - .350/.381/.457/.838 126 OPS+, 8 HR, 69 RBI, 56SB-14CS, 127 R, 34 2B, 7.5 WAR Trout 2012: 351 PA - .356/.413/.606/1.019 183 OPS+, 16 HR, 49 RBI, 31SB-3CS, 74 R, 20 2B, 6.2 WAR Trout 2012 with Lynn's PA: 605 PA .356/.413/.606/1.019 183 OPS+, 28 HR, 85 RBI, 54SB-5CS, 128 R, 35 2B, 10.7 WAR Trout 2012 with Ichiro's PA (more realistic because they both led off): 738 PA - .356/.413/.606/1.019 183 OPS+, 34 HR, 103 RBI, 65SB-6CS, 156 R, 42 2B, 13.0 WAR 156 runs scored would be the most in a season since 1936. The thing that just really sends my awe to another level is that not only can he produce just a shade under Pujols in his prime as a 20 year old rookie, but he also just happens to lead the league in SB and is stealing at a 92% clip.
  6. I was in LA for work on Monday and went out of my way to go to an Angels game because I had to see Trout. He's actually kind of made me cheer for the Angels lately. I should say that I managed to snag him on my fantasy team when he came up so I love him even more than most. He's single handedly saved my season.
  7. This is quickly turning into a discussion around what Dempster can/can't do! The last two times a Cubs player had an on-field tirade and was grumpy about it to the media, there was a retirement shortly after. OK Zambrano was only threatening to retire but still....either way the player didn't remain on the team much longer.
  8. Dempster was just seen in a Pittsburgh bar singing a Native American war chant while doing the Tomahawk Chop.
  9. I'm surprised she married you after this. I haven't seen the movie. I couldn't even sit through that whole clip I posted. The team was flipping channels in the clubhouse one day and came upon the movie. They adopted the Z hand size from that. They all thought the movie was horrible. Now the fans are doing it too. That doesn't mean that you have to take up 1/3 of every page you post on. Knug Foo Panda flashed it to Cutch at the all star game.
  10. Why? Dempster was within his rights to torpedo the trade. He exercised those rights. How can you support punishing some one that has done nothing wrong? The thing that he may very well have done wrong is lie to his bosses about his intentions. I dont understand Dempster's motivation for doing that though? I'm not saying he couldn't have lied, I'm just not sure why he would do that.
  11. It's obvious Dempster is giving this game to Pittsburgh because it hurts the Braves' chances in the Wild Card.
  12. I'm sure Theo is still hanging out at his old Fenway Park office throwing a football around with his bros.
  13. Strangely enough Ron Santo did receive death threats as a player. One of the two documented threats was from a Mets fan though
  14. Resting him for the stretch run. Hell yeah, looks like we are keeping the band together to see if this 17-7 run is a fluke or if its the start of an improbable playoff push!!
  15. from ESPN.com's MLB page http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2012/0725/rodriguez_alex_g_mp_576.jpg lol, this was on their front page several years ago when Jeter hurt his shoulder: http://bronxbanter.arneson.name/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/gal_jeter-shoulder.jpg
  16. Yeah I bet they are increasingly confident knowing they are the only team Dempster seems willing to go to, and knowing that the Cubs will get laughed at if they try to hold out for Zach Lee any longer.
  17. 0% if Garza doesn't come back strong very soon. WSR seems to think we can pull the ol' switcheroo and slip Soriano in there for Dempster and finish the trade.
  18. .225/.291/.347/.638 in the last 55 games for all-star Bryan TheHair.
  19. Suck it umps! RAISE IT *stupid finger thing*
