    Honestly, I wouldn't be that upset if Theo bolted after 5 years for some reason. Assuming the plan works like its being set up, the infastructure of the entire organization will have been upgraded and presumably be among baseball's best. Even the most gung ho Theo fans would admit that the moves he made to keep the Red Sox as a contender were iffy for the most part, and his biggest strength lies in talent development.

You bitch about me discussing ND 2 days ago and then jump into a discussion with frankly a stupid addition. And I didn't bitch at you for discussing ND, just for flying off the handle whenever ND haters riled you up.

    I was just thinking about this the other day. There has to be some unseen or underappreciated variable out there that can help project QB prospects better. Maybe down the road somewhere, someone will find something that will more accurately evaluate the pro potential of QBs. Other than the can't missers like Peyton, Marino, Luck, etc the rest is a giant crapshoot.

    My biggest issue with Brenly was his obsession with telling everyone who caught a foul ball to give it to a kid. Its a nice sentiment but there were times where the cameras would go back to that area and Bob would repeatedly beg for the ball to be given to the kid.

    A quirk I totally understand. But we all have our crosses to bear, and I've learned to mostly deal with the backflips people will do to justify the Cubs' front office's actions. Yeah people were so over the top in praising Theo for the Navarro signing. And it was rediciulous how everyone wanted Cespedes/Darvish/Hyun-Jin and then we didn't get him and the mantra changed to 'Those guys suck anyways, obviously Theo just saved us here'

    It's amazing how touchy people get about things that are either factual or at least undisputed. What? That Theo handpicked Cherrington and people think Cherrington sucks? Sure the first part is a fact. But there's only one person continually pointing this crap out in every single thread. And its seemingly all posted with the inferrance that people are blindly in favor of everything Theo does and refuse to accept that he can make a bad decision, or steer us in the wrong direction, and that is not fact at all.

    So players who will probably be on the injury report: WR Bennett WR Hester WR Jeffery RB Forte G Spencer G Louis LB Briggs LB Urlacher CB Jennings 7 starters and 2/3rds of our WRs. Remember back in 2010 when there were weeks towards the end of the year when there was NO ONE on the injury report? Last year we were crushed with 2 major injuries (Cutler and Forte), and this year we are being taken down by all the depth around these impact players going down.

    I can't believe how dumb their fans are to eat that stuff up. Just because your front office says really smart-sounding things to justify their moves doesn't mean you have to believe it, guys. Edit: I've got a better one. What an idiot! I'm sure glad the guy who handpicked him to be the heir apparent in Boston isn't choosing the people to run our franchise. Can we just change your title to "Theo hater"? I don't care if that's really your intention with all this crap you post.

    They couldn't possibly start the season in 10 days could they? If they did there's going to be at least 2 months of terrible hockey and injuries galore as the players play themselves into shape. Yeah that was the talk before that it would take about 10 days to get things cranked up. Seems crazy. I think the NBA had about 16-17 days last year. But that's what they've been saying. And at this point games are only cancelled through December 14. And sure there are probably some guys who are out of shape and susceptible to injury, but there are a couple hundred or so guys playing overseas and many more in the AHL. And there are a lot of informal workouts being held by the players. So I think that concern is probably overblown. I'm seriously bummed out without the pucks. My optimism is therefore probably over the top here, I admit. Actually the NBA had a full month. The agreement was reached the Friday after thanksgiving, the lockout was officially lifted the next Monday or Tuesday and the season started on Christmas. That said, the NBA still had to have a short FA signing period but I think camp started later that same week.

    Lets hope so. 50 games is better than 0. Plus with the lack of depth on the Hawks, Q can ride his core hard without having to worry about them being completely gassed in the playoffs.

    Wow that's crazy. You are totally right though. If we win and those all lose, the only teams that can tie us are Dallas, Minnesota and TB, and Dallas and Minny immediately lose the H2H tiebreaker, and TB can't catch us in conference record. That's nuts. Go Bears, Giants, Bills, Bengals, Eagles (ugh), Giants again, and Ravens.

    Why even bring up the fact he used to play for the A's? He hasn't pitched for them since the end of a totally different era of baseball. And his injury history has one serious blemish on it: a TJS from 2008-2009, which he recovered from perfectly fine. If the Braves want to get rid of Hudson it's because he's old and expensive, not because he's got any serious injuries, and particularly none that he developed playing in Oakland. As with most ex-Cardinal pitchers, you have to worry about Haren dying unexpectedly
