  1. Stuff that only I think is interesting: The Bears have started the game on defense in 9 consecutive games and overall in 10 out of their 12 games. They have won the coin toss 7 times and deferred all 7 times They have lost the coin toss 5 times and the opponents have deferred only twice (STL, IND)
  2. I love the Bears passing playcalls so far. Trying to let the offensive line affect the game as little as possible
  3. Yeah if he blew the whistle and made that call isn't that the end of it? Well I know one things for certain...the Seahawks certainly can't challenge whose ball it is like the announcer suggested they should do, lol.
  4. Should probably stop fumbling the ball

    NFL Week 13

I think the Rams should really go back to their old bright blue and yellow unis. They are wearing them today vs. SF and they just really stand out better.
  6. No one talking about Marshall sitting on a table getting his knee looked at by trainers? Also, Forte doesn't look right today. Looks a step slow.
  7. Well I'm glad the Hawks got to hoist the cup before it was rendered meaningless by this farce of a league.
  8. Brian Wilson is pissed that the Giants released him and has said he has no interest in resigning with San Francisco. I wonder who would make a play for him.

    NFL Week 13

I don't think anyone is thinking concussions are the most likely reason, but given how much the story has been in the press lately, I'm not surprised people are bringing it up as a possibility. There could be a million reasons why but in the last 2 years Dave Duerson and Junior Seau both killed themselves and (I believe) their suicides were traced back to concussion related injuries (I apologize if this is incorrect). Also within the last decade in a different realm of entertainment, Chris Benoit snapped and killed his wife, young kids, and later himself, and afterwords was shown to have major brain damage caused by concussions. It's something that's fresh in the minds of your average football/sports fan. I think its just so random and out of place when a NFL starting linebacker randomly decides to murder his girlfriend in front of her mother and then drives to his team's practice facility to kill himself in front of his bosses, people immediately try to make sense of a senseless situation.

    NFL Week 13

Thanks Crennel and Pioli? That's traumatizing. I can't see how the Chiefs play their game tomorrow.
  12. It would have been even better if the Spurs won that game last night and Stern still did this. The sad thing is that it's not even about that for Stern. As he said last night, he's mad that fans are buying tickets to see Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, etc and the Spurs send out their 2nd team. The fact that the Spurs were thought to have thrown the game is a just a secondary result. How is this any different than teams resting stars at the end of the year when they are locked into playoff spots? His argument is this is November and the Spurs havent clinched anything, but where do you draw the line? It's stupid....Stern is meddling way too much.
  13. Mr. "Take a flyer" himself starts a thread about non-tenders. All is right with the world.
  14. Is that Vince McMahon?
  15. I'm trying to think if the Chicago writers would be more likely to vote for Sosa or less likely. If it's more likely, Sammy might not make it to the 2nd ballot.
  16. Tie game in Cameron with 6 minutes left? Guess it's down to PSU Looks like a tie (win) this year. [expletive] the ACC. Ugh, it seems like this should have been an easy B1G victory this year. WTF happened to Wisconsin and MSU?
  17. False Louisville: 48th biggest TV market Washington DC: 8th biggest TV market Baltimore: 24th biggest TV market /Jim Delaney
  18. On his radio show on Monday, he said that he would be clean shaven the next time he was on the show the following Monday, so I'm guessing that means he shaves it on 12/1 at 12:00 AM
  19. they looked really really good, just looked hapless for a few minutes. It's clearly a really good looking team and probably deserving of their number 3 ranking
  20. Michigan's trying to blow this. Had a 15 point lead, now down to 5 as Michigan looks flustered offensively, and NC State is sprinting up the court and getting high percentage shots on offense. Let's see if Michigan can hold on in the last 2 minutes.
  21. Not that I am not impressed at that stat Podlesh gave us, but lets not start piling praise on the guy. He uses Net punt average which accounts for the length of his punt and the coverage team making the stop. Obviously the punter can affect this as well with his hang time though. Either way, despite having the highest and 2nd highest Net average in team history, his teams still ranked 8th and 21st in the NFL. Then you look at Gross punt average which is ust total distance a punt goes before a return, the Bears are 30th in the league there at 42.3 yards per attempt. The 1st place punter's average is 50.6. And last year the gross average was 43.9 yards, good for 22nd in the NFL well behind SF's punter who had an average of 50.9. So how much credit should we give the punter and how much the special teams unit that stops these returners?
  22. I'll take the 15 yard penalty there just because that play was so awesome. If you as a QB stiffarm a defender looking to clock you, you deserve to do whatever you want.
  23. 9 days between posts in this thread says it all. No enthusiasm for this Bulls team. Oh and they just blew a 27 point 3rd quarter lead and lost at home to the Bucks. Yuuuuuup
  24. It's so weird to see Michigan #3 in the country. They played well last week beating Pittsburgh and KState (looked really good in that one), but they haven't been tested yet to earn that #3 spot. I'm excited to see how they do tomorrow against NC State which is their only ranked non-conference team they play.
  25. Thank God, the Bears have played in primetime enough this year. This likely means that the Bears won't be playing at night the rest of the season unless Detroit inexplicably turns their season around and is guaranteed a playoff spot with a victory in week 17. The NFL likes to schedule games like that in week 17, ere none of the day's action matters except for whether that team wins or loses.
