    I'm too lazy to look for the best arbitrary starting points so I'll just say from the start of this 6-19 stretch, the opponents have outhomered the Cubs 48-21.

    Eh I don't think last night matters. If they had done something with it, you could argue it gave us positive momentum but turning around and playing like this destroys all momentum we might have gotten and puts us back in "we absolutely suck" mode.

    Continuing that thought, maybe DFA of Taillon or Shota is an option since they're both in the final year of their contracts and likely don't offer any relief value.

    Jed's was a retool don't forget. A retool that lasted longer than Theo's gut rebuild and led to 1 playoff appearance and 4 playoff wins vs 5 playoff appearances, 19 playoff wins and a WS title.

    Since Boyd and his 6.00 ERA will be back imminently, one of these guys will likely be demoted from the starting rotation... Imanaga - 4.74 ERA Taillon - 5.13 ERA Rea - 5.49 ERA Cabrera - 4.99 ERA Brown - 1.92 ERA It's probably going to be Rea because he has more long relief experience right? What a disaster

    I've have stanned for the Cubs pitching infrastructure and Hottovy for years, and I realize we're dealing with a lot of injuries but the Cubs pitching is completely unacceptable. No excuse for Taillon, Shota and Cabrera to be as bad as they've been, no excuse for Maton to be unplayable. Like what are we doing here?

    Also that game against the Pirates where he hit 2 critical home runs in a rare win doesn't count because the Cubs were in the middle of a 5-19 stretch thus a low leverage situation.

    That’s 11 HR allowed in Shota’s last 4 starts and 9 in his last 3 starts (though to be fair one of them is PCAs botch). that has to be close to a record right?

    I’m switching to 3-15 as my futility statistic because the 2-4 stretch to start this run actually raises their win percentage from .161 to .204 or something like that
