  1. lol I forgot Bob Babich was still a Bears coach.
  2. Yes because racism doesn't happen anymore. I know this was hypothetical but I like how people have turned a complaint about racism into an automatic unfounded complaint by an angry black person. You are right, that was a little ignorant on my part to stretch it to that. My apologies.
  3. You also have to remember that the reporters are surely bating the players for these comments and are posting ones that will get a reaction. This is their immediate reaction to negative news being caputured here. They are all professionals and will get over it quickly and move on.
  4. Haha, Devin is pissed that he will never be called a number 1 WR anymore. I'm surprised he didn't just go all the way and throw out the race card or something.
  5. That's bizarre Why, isn't that just a last chance for Lovie & coaches to talk with the team? It's weird that a GM would fire a head coach and then not have some member of the FO talk to the media about that decision. Weird that the players are going to talk about the coach being fired but not even a comment from the FO? I'm not saying they need a full fledged press conference on New Years eve to discuss, but I figured there would be some sort of comment to verify the decision.
  6. Da Coach is on now.....he's very disappointed that Lovie is gone
  7. Jack Dowling unexpectedly resigns. i love the effort you went through to make that joke
  8. Clayton said a lot of weird things. Yeah I'm a few minutes behind. Right now he's talking about how the Bears should agressively go after Andy Reid and pay him what he wants.
  9. Redskins over Seahawks Packers over Vikings Ravens over Colts Bengals over Texans Falcons over Redskins Packers over 49ers Broncos over Bengals Patriots over Ravens Packers over Falcons Patriots over Broncos Patriots over Packers
  10. Oh geez, John Clayton just speculated that the Bears would go after Brian Kelly
  11. YES. Sean Jensen confirming this. YESYES. That gives you some early indication of what types of candidates they are looking for.
  12. This should be some fun speculation. Sad as it is to say, I'm going to guess Marshall was one of the participants.
  13. Also, I LOVE how aggressively they are making decisions today. The old Bears don't make this decision until like Thursday. It's 10:30 the day after the season and they've already fired the coach and are agressively reaching out to candidates.
  14. They are talking about how most of Emery's contacts are in the college game because of all the scouting work he still does. Of course this doesnt mean the hire will be out of the college game, but those are the people who he is most familiar with.
  15. I have a feeling that the decision to fire Lovie came above Emery. I could be wrong though.
  16. Can we clone Thibs? That'd kinda be awesome. You want to keep flaming out fantastically in the playoffs due to an overworked team? or does Cudler hurd his nee in the first game?
  17. Listening to fan recation is hilarious. I think the fans want a combination of Mike Ditka and Tom Thibadeau as the next head coach.
  18. Yeah, they moved up player media availability so he had to bolt. He promised he'd work out a time to be on later this week. Prob Thurs or Friday. Gotcha
  19. I just rewound to when the news was officially broke, and Cutler immediately stopped talking except for doing a pitch on Caddilac and left early.
  20. That would be a step down. how about Norv Turner?
  21. Did Jay leave the show ASAP when the news came out? He's not there anymore
  22. i dont know why but I laughed Waddle and Silvy are pumping Gruden
  23. I think the "doesn't want to pay 2 coaches" line doesn't hold up. The Bears spend, and in the NFL teams pay out contracts to fired employees all the time. Plus its just one season, its not like you are firing him with 3 years left on a big deal or something. How many times have you seen an NFL coaches contract simply run out and then not be brought back? I think it was Hub or someone who was talking about that several weeks ago...it almost never happens. They always get canned with years left on the deal.
  24. Coming to grips with this after being bummed out a bit last night. Whatever....non-Bears fans will group this team historically with the other 24 teams that didn't make the playoffs, just like the other 10-6 (and 11-5) teams that failed to make it. Did the Bears deserve to make the playoffs? Yes I think they did. They were a deeply flawed team with elite talent holding things together but in an NFL where over a third of the teams make it, that should have been good enough. It's just hard to get too upset when the team was 7-1 and had a 97% chance to make the playoffs. If they had went 5-3 and 5-3, I might be a little more upset for some reason. Funny, when I was running through all the scenarios to get in the playoffs before the Arizona game, I kept purposely leaving out the Vikings, only saying 'if they can win in Houston and against GB to get in, then they just deserve to go over us', and that's exactly what happened.
