  1. And Liberty wins and might have the worst RPI to ever make the tourney.
  2. Damn you Penn State. I really don't want to face them again on Thursday.
  3. So USA/Canada winner is in and loser is out. Is the winner of the group in the case of a tie head to head? I'm assuming this is the case which would mean USA would win the group if they win today and Italy would win the group if Canadia wins right?
  4. Really hoping PSU can pull this off and guarantee Michigan a bye regardless of how we do against IU
  5. Won't steal any bids but I want to see if Liberty with its 14-20 record can crash the tourney with a win today. I think they were 6-10 in the Big South conference. Whoever wins is going to be a 16 seed play in
  6. Run differential. They wouldn't have been eliminated even if Mexico would have won. Now they aren't eliminated even if they lose tonight. So right now the differentials are: Mexico (1-2) -5, USA (0-1) -3, Canada (1-1) -3
  7. This Rose stuff is hilarious. Reports that Rose was caught off guard by the leaking of that news about him being cleared yesterday. One said he was upset at Bulls management. Now Rose missed practice today and people speculated it was unexcused and people on RealGm jumped to the conclusion that Rose was pissed at management and ditched practice. But now Fridell and others were told the missed practice was excused because Rose had a dentist appointment. RealGM is freaking psycho over everything.
  8. Well done. I have a feeling they don't want to cut Hester though. Maybe redo his deal for a lot less though. Yeah, the Bears reporters on the radio this week seem to think they want to keep Hester. They also like Spaeth, so I'm not sure they will cut him either.
  9. lol minnesota If they complete this loss, and then lose to Nebraska on Thursday......nah they are probably still safe. 20-12 (8-10) with a first round loss to a bad Nebraska team looks sketchy but their SOS and RPI (however flawed) is too good right?
  10. I just don't see the point given everything else we have to do. We can't afford what he's going to get. Or we can but do we need to spend that money on a top WR over other positions of need?
  11. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE
  12. He alders Dammit I was gonna make that joke this morning but was too lazy.
  13. I disagree...there would of course be angry fans venting frustration, but they would be the vocal minority. I think the majority of Cubs fans are smarter than they are made out to be, as evidenced by the response to stripping the team down and beginning a long term rebuilding plan. Moving the Cubs away from Wrigley Field would not be the ideal solution for anyone, but the Cubs have the ability to manipulate the media and outline their side of things. Some people would see right through it and know that the Cubs arent actually going to leave Wrigley, some be opposed to leaving Wrigley but would understand why the Cubs feel like they need to explore other options, some would flip out and call the Score and bitch about it every day, but I don't think there would be riots at the Cubs offices or anything. Now if the Cubs really did leave Wrigley, that might be a different story. But driving to Addison and looking at potential locations wouldnt be *that* big of a deal. Edit: And I believe there is some sort of precident in the mid-90's when the Red Sox were exploring the possibility of building a new ballpark in South Boston. There was opposition but I don't recall anything dramatic, and this is Boston we're talking about. Could be wrong though, I just remember reading about it awhile ago.
  14. Rose is cleared to play but won't until he can "dunk confidently off his left foot" or something. http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=9031045 Also the team is confident hell play this year and are possibly aiming for a mid-March return.
  15. And Netherlands beats Cuba And Rizzos double gives Italy a win over Mexico.
  16. Tunney would call that bluff. The Cubs aren't going anywhere. Ricketts is better off reconciling with Rahm -- at least their interests are aligned and the Mayor has the ability to put real pressure on Tunney if he wants to. Maybe. It depends on how far the Cubs carry it out. If the rooftop and bar owners start to panic, Tunney would have to cave. The wrigleyville businesses need Wrigley a lot more than the Cubs need Wrigleyville.
  17. UMhoops did a nice job breaking down the seeding scenarios for the Big Ten Tournament today http://www.umhoops.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Seeds20Layout1_thumb1.jpg Assuming MSU beats NW, Wisconsin beats Penn State and OSU beats Illinois, its basically this: If MSU and UM win: 1. Indiana 2. Ohio State 3. Michigan 4. Michigan St 5. Wisconsin vs. Penn State If MSU and IU win: 1. Indiana 2. Ohio State 3. Michigan St 4. Wisconsin 5. Michigan vs. Penn State If Wisky and UM win: 1. Wisconsin 2. Ohio State 3. Indiana 4. Michigan 5. Michigan St vs. Penn State If Wisky and IU win: 1. Indiana 2. Michigan 3. Wisconsin 4. Ohio State 5. Michigan vs. Penn State Teams still alive for 1 seed: Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio State Everyone except Indiana can still fall to a 5 seed although it would be very unlikely for OSU If Michigan loses to Indiana, it would take the loser of the MSU/Wisconsin game to also lose to NW/PSU to keep UM out of the 5 seed. Yikes.
  18. One thing in IU's favor, is that they don't have much competition for the Midwest region. If Duke or Gonzaga 1 seeds, they aren't going to the Midwest. Kansas could go to the Midwest, but I think they'd prefer the South. And I don't think the committee would put teams outside of their region just because none of them fully deserve it. Michigan is probably the only team that has a chance to take the MW #1 from IU, and if IU can win there or go further/win the B1G tourney that conversation is over too. Yeah I think Michigan would have to beat Indiana and at the very least get to the Big Ten title game and not lose to Indiana in that game to get the #1 in the MW, probably a #1 in general.
  19. I just did a twitter search for 'Patrick Sharp' to find that news out...looks like it originated from Yahoo.
  20. According to twitter, its looking like Sharp will miss at least 2-3 weeks. Wonder if Stan is on the phones right now.
  21. There is something to be said about putting together a streak during a season where you are playing almost every other night and battling fatigue and nagging injuries. The Blackhawks streak benefits from taking 9 months off after the 6th game and getting to resume it with a couple of additions to the team. I don't know it's not a huge deal overall but I can understand if people think its ever so slightly less impressive than doing it in one season. Just my opinion.
