  1. Yogi Farrell (7-8) and Devyn Marble (6-9) are a combined 13-17 from 3 against Michigan over the last week
  2. Michael Bennett was on Carm and Jurko today. Despite all the reports about him being 100% back to Seattle, he seemed to be very indirect when asked about his FA. He kept saying its a business and that he'd love to play with his brother.
  3. Only your political groups
  4. THANK GOD WE GOT THIS THREAD BACK
  5. ARod drops all his lawsuits http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/10420424/alex-rodriguez-new-york-yankees-withdraws-lawsuit-overturn-suspension Not sure if that will save him in the eyes of MLBPA
  6. I hate the comments. All Red Sox fans do is bash Theo. Why do you even look at comments? Because I wanted to see what Red Sox fans said about Theo after he gave an interview that was very complimentary of the present day team and the work of the FO that replaced him.

  8. Awesome idea, lets get it done Ted Phillips
  9. So much funny here. First of all the poster asks for BA/HR/RBI for his projections. This isn't 1988 but whatever. The top upvoted poster has Olt hitting 25 HR this year, Lake hitting 22, Logan Watkins being the starting 2B, Wellington with 16. Then the first comment on his post says "this sounds the most realistic"
  10. http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-insider/2014/02/scout-ranks-cubs-top-25-prospects/ Interesting read. To preview, about Baez:
  11. 8 years later: -Well run? Meh, to some degree -Solid plan in place? Maybe -Intelligent GM? Different GM now, might be intelligent but certainly doesn't connect well with coaching staff/players -Intelligent coach? Different coach now, this coach is better than Skiles -Good system to develop young players? Still applies, but now we're talking about mid-to-late round guys instead of lottery picks
  12. Great win last night. Craw came up big. One more until the Olympic Break. 1 behind the Ducks (both 59 GP) and 4 up on the Blues (4 more GP).
  13. Ugh Iowa. Is the Big Ten not as good as we thought or are these teams just beating up on each other?
  14. Damn, Kaner has like emotions and stuff. RIP to his grandfather. http://deadspin.com/patrick-kane-honors-dead-grandfather-breaks-down-after-1515831526
  15. I totally see SSR's reasoning, but I can't agree with the bold at all. Maybe I'm just a big wet blanket but I find the bleachers totally miserable. The view of the game kinda sucks. You can't really lean back so you're kinda hunched forward uncomfortably the whole game. You have to worry about someone saving your seat when you get up to go the bathroom or buy beer or whatever. And I'm all about stupid drunken antics, but the level of such douchebaggery is tenfold there. I'm not saying there aren't fun aspects of it but the drawbacks are too much for me. Totally agree. I like doing the bleachers thing once or twice a season, but to have that be your seat option for every game? And even if someone loves the atmosphere I don't know how they could think they're the best seats; you can't see [expletive]. He DID say he's right out of college, so I guess that explains, but the old man side of me thinks that sounds like a nightmare. Agreed on the bleachers. Fun once in awhile, but you have to either get there early or sit in the CF bleachers. However, if the Cubs were ever in the world series and I was able to get a free ticket anywhere but 100 level or better, I'm choosing bleachers. Also, there are a ton of douchebags there. I was at an NSBB meetup in 2006 and almost got into a fight for making fun of Dusty Baker, wtf?
  16. I gave up after 3. But even with all the pages of texts that still not the full findings presumably, so might as well wait for the official report before I flip my thoughts one way or the other. The only stuff worth reading are the texts at the very end after Martin left the team (~10/31/13). The rest of it is bro's talking about going out and getting laid, even all the way up until a day or two before he left. The texts definitely paint Incognito in a completely different light although I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

  18. Boozer doing everything he can to get amnestied this offseason.
  19. To see how badly Manning played last night and know that Rex's performance was significantly worse than that is nauseating. I remember when the Bears led that game 7-0 and had the ball at midfield before the offense ever saw the field. That was the last good feeling I had about the game. I still had a pretty good field when Thomas Jones ran the Bears down the field and Rex found Moose in the end zone for the 8 point lead. After that, the Bears forced a punt and drove the ball to midfield and then the real back breaker occurred when Benson fumbled it away. Ugh. Even after that, I still felt good even though the Colts had taken a 19-14 lead in the 3rd quarter. The Bears had a 2nd and 1 from the Colts 45 and were moving the ball well on the drive. Rex holds onto the ball way too long and takes a sack, then fumbles the snap on the next play and before you know it, its 4th down from the Bears 33. Ugh. But of course despite all that, the Bears were only down 5 with 12 minutes left in the 4th and starting to get some momentum on a drive, having gotten it to their 40 when Rex throws a terrible ball that is picked for a TD. Game over. Ugh.

  21. The point has never been you need an elite QB to win a Super Bowl. Or that a defense can't win one for you. The point is that you cannot stay consistently good while depending on an elite defense. To be dominant on defense you need several studs on defense. That route gets expensive in a hurry as members reach free agency and get to move on. And then they get old as well. If you are fortunate enough to draft as well as Seattle has on defense all within a couple years and then also have the fortune of drafting a quality QB in the third and have him contribute immediately, you can replicate their success. But that's not a recipe for a decade of contending. Seattle also has 2 1st rounders on the offensive line and another 2nd. The the point is, as always, is that you need to draft well to be a good team. Not surprising. Surprising is the fact that the Bears have been able to tread water for so many years with one good draft over a decade ago and not much else.
  22. Edit: Sorry I don't know how to make the image smaller so I put it in spoilers
  23. Harvins gonna win the Super Bowl MVP in his 3rd ever game with the Seahawks. Weird
  24. Peyton Manning should thank Sexy Rexy everyday for allowing him to at least win one Super Bowl.
  25. Blah. Worst offensive performance of the season + Yogi shooting 8-9 = IUs ownership of UM for the entire history of both programs continuing* *Trying to jinx
