  1. Reports are saying Game 1 will definitely be on Friday regardless of opponent
  2. Is it bad that Theo and cos only high profile free agent signing appears to be a big bust?
  3. Good timing, I just read this yesterday: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/first-round-stanley-cup-sharks-kings/
  4. AFAIK its fine as long as you aren't asking for more than face value. Good luck. Try the Reddit Cubs forum too, they seem to have people doing that a lot.
  5. I'm surprised they haven't said anything (that I've seen) about Game 1's date. The second round is starting tomorrow night with Boston/Montreal, so there should be a some games on Friday. Is there a scheduling conflict in Colorado that prevents the NHL from giving a conclusive date?
  6. I'm not particularly optimistic about the Bulls immediate future but its silly to say they are in NBA hell for the foreseeable future. My pessimism is due to concerns that Rose is going to get hurt again/wont be the same player/isnt as good as we have built him up to be during his 2.5 year absence and the Bulls aren't going to be able to acquire that game changing player that we need and have been looking for the last 5 years. But its pretty clear that there are many many teams in the league in worse shape than the Bulls.
  7. I don't think it will be next year unless the Bulls don't get Melo (very likely) and Rose gets hurt again (also somewhat likely). If that happens it will fall back into "same [expletive] different year" and all the regular season success in the world won't help them forget being pantsed in the playoffs this year. But otherwise, there will be just enough change and just enough optimism for Thibs to get maximum motivation out of the players yet again. I do worry though. Noah is the emotional leader of the team, and when he makes the "I'd hate you if we weren't winning Thibs" jokes, I believe he says it with a hint of truth. If you lose Noah, you lose the team.
  8. That Thunder-Griz series has been awesome. Last night alone you had Westbrook's steal and dunk, the Grizzlies hitting a shot ~0.3 seconds after the buzzer to win it in regulation then the Thunder hitting a shot with ~0.1 seconds after the buzzer to win it in OT.
  9. They wanted a river view http://www.sports-venue.info/sitebuilder/images/Great_American_Ballpark_1-566x375.jpg The last thing I want to do when watching baseball is to look at Kentucky
  10. 0-13-1 in our last 14 series dating back to last year, assuming we lose today (if not 0-12-2). And it doesn't get better with the Cardinals coming to town this weekend, followed by a 4 gamer against the White Sox (would have to go 3-1) then a series in Atlanta, and 4 games in St. Louis. Maybe we can take 2 of 3 from the Brewers at home in mid-May? If not, the next winnable 3 game series comes at home in early June against the Mets.
  11. It's probably an east coast bias thing, but I can't believe no one is talking about the Kings being one win away from overcoming a 3-0 deficit and winning the series. It's only happened like 5 times in professional sports history. When the Flyers did it to the Bruins a few years back, it was big news but for some reason its a blip on the radar even in hockey circles.
  12. Man I hope so. Hinrich too.
  13. Entertaining way to end the season. Pretty much the worst case scenario of a season. Rose misses another year, we get nothing back for Deng, team doesn't tank for a draft pick and their reward is being depantsed in the playoffs, bobcats thrive on a shitty east and render one of the bulls better assets into the 17th pick. Now it's time for fans to get giddy about free agent superstars that won't come here and another attempt for Rose to resurrect his career.
  14. Team that lives on grit, effort and hustle can't get a defensive rebound to keep their season alive.
  15. And the coach refuses to alter his rotations to reflect the opponent and game situation
  16. Thibs is going to ride his regular season rotations to the bloody end isn't he?
  17. http://mediacentral.nba.com/media/mediacentral/NBA-Constitution-and-By-Laws.pdf The NBA just made their by-laws public (it was previously confidential)
  18. Who cares? Is it really that much of an honor given this team? Like the past 5 seasons, eventually Fred will be starting the threads anyways once everyone fully loses interest. thats why i didnt bother signing up this year.
  19. Clippers landing page: http://www.nba.com/clippers/one
  20. Spike Lee in the house!
  21. Silver just said banned for life and a $2.5 mil fine. That sounds a little more extreme then "suspended indefinitely"
  22. What exactly is the consequence to an owner of suspension? I just asked the same thing to some of my buddies. Does it just mean he's not allowed to games or NBA events? Is he not allowed in the offices/able to make day-to-day business decisions indefinitely? Not allowed to vote on anything? I'd imagine it'd be similar to Marge Schott and George Steinbrenner, no?
  23. Don't they bitch about the preparations for almost every Olympic city/World Cup country that isn't in Europe or North America? I mean I kind of like seeing Rio get knocked a bit because I thought Chicago would have been a better host city (and I'm obviously very biased) but I'm sure they will be fine.
