  1. You are the new most awful person on this site. Who the hell cares about the stupid Marlins anymore? I'm over it. Yeah I get it they beat us in 03, their owner is a POS, they stole money from Miami taxpayers for a stadium no one goes to, and their fans are horrible, the few that they have. I dunno I'd rather see a young unheralded core make the playoffs in relative obscurity than see the stupid Cardinals or Reds make it instead.
  2. I seem to recall the Blue Jays, probably because of Reggie Jackson Baseball for SMS where they were one of the best teams. They finished above .500 from 83-89. They were one of the better teams in the AL despite only making the playoffs twice. In 87 they won 96 games and didnt make it, they also had a couple of 89 win seasons and didn't make it. The Angels made the playoffs twice in the 80s and had 4 90 win seasons.
  3. If the playoffs started today, I would absolutely love the teams involved 1 San Francisco Giants 2 Milwaukee Brewers 3 Atlanta Braves 4 Miami Marlins 5 Washington Nationals Giants vs Marlins/Nationals Brewers vs. Braves 1 Oakland Athletics 2 Toronto Blue Jays 3 Detroit Tigers 4 Seattle Mariners 5 Los Angeles Angels Athletics vs. Mariners/Angels Blue Jays vs. Tigers The Brewers are the only team that I have even the slightest amount of dislike for, and seeing teams like the Marlins, Nats, Blue Jays and Mariners would be sweet. Plus the AL teams other than Seattle have a very mid-80's feel to it.
  4. I liked baseball better then. I hate admitting that.... Actually I liked the era between the steroid area and this current dead ball era, where not everyone was doping, but some guys still were. Less guilt enjoying that product.
  5. I know this is common in college baseball but why are baseball players allowed to hire agents and be drafted without losing eligibility but football and basketball players aren't? Always wondered that.
  6. What a bizarre game 1. AC out in arena, 90 degrees in there. lebron misses last 7 mins of game with cramps and Spurs go on huge run to win
  7. Errrr....Jimmy Clausen just signed with the Bears
  8. It's not like the Cubs have let the inaccuracy of the song's other lyrics get in the way... About projecting supreme confidence in the cubs ability to win on that particular day and having the power and speed to be the best team in the national league?
  9. Noah was named to the All-NBA 1st team. 2nd Bull to receive the honor since MJ. I don't remember the first one, some guy named after a flower. Whatever happened to him?
  10. So what do you guys think the Cubs plan is for Bryant? The recent quotes suggest that they want to see him in AA a bit longer, but I think that's silly. He's 22, not 20. Do they bring him up to AAA in say August and let him finish the season there? Do they call him up when rosters expand? I'm assuming he would start the year in AAA next year with a June call up?
  11. I don't buy that report. It sounds like the same thing that Chad Ford speculated on last week when he said if the Cavs were shopping the #1 pick it would be for a big like Noah, Love or Aldridge. I don't know why the Cavs would trade the #1 for Noah or Aldridge as they will both be 29 next year and making over $10m a year. Love I could see, but overall I don't think they trade #1 unless they are either getting a later lottery pick back and/or they think they are getting LeBron back, but the draft is before FA so its unlikely.
  12. Alright guys Ima shut it down for the year. Can someone just PM me the highlights from the rest of the season once its over?
  13. Oh Bryant finally decided to hit a HR
  14. awwwwww [expletive] no
  15. Sharp will turn 33 next season, he has probably two good years left. Meh its hockey and his game isn't predicated on speed. He could possibly stay sharp (pun greatly intended) for another 5 years. Or he could suck in 2 like you suggested.
  16. What could they get for Seabrook? To start? A 2nd line center and a Top 4 d-man, IMO. There's little in the way of FA defensemen available. Ryan Kesler still out there? Obviously you'd have to give up more but I'd love to get involved in those discussions.
  17. The Kings had just iced the puck after a long shift, and thus had to keep tired players on the ice. The Hawks could change at will. This. And the face off was in the Kings defensive zone
  18. Pretty good Hawks post-mortem on the season by The Committed Indian, even if it is a little too anti-Q http://thecommittedindian.com/lock-leave/
  19. Noah made All-Defensive 1st team, Jimmy Butler 2nd team. Surprised Taj didn't make it.
  20. Yeah, IMO he's a mediocre goaltender with 2 great playoffs. I am not sure how advanced stats work for goalies, but to me a .915 career save percentage is nothing special. For comparison purposes, Crawfords is .914 and Crawford's has been better in each of the last 2 seasons. In the playoffs, Crawford is at .920, Quick .922.
  21. I'd laugh my ass off and probably get banned from the Bulls thread in short order Wallace, Olynyk, and this years first rounder should do the trick And we'd be like "thats OK we didnt even want Love, we want Melo" Then Melo signs with the Lakers and we all cry ourselves to sleep.
