Where are the Cubs falling short offensively? I haven't been paying close enough attention, but it seems like Rizzo has been a monster, Castro has been pretty good, Valbuena (as a semi-regular) is having a career year, and Lake has had his moments. Is it just everyone else being black holes? -

Agreed. They were the best team this year, hard as it is to admit. they deserve to win it because they played the best in the most important 2 months, but i don't think they were the best team. they're probably bounced in the first round if not for the vlasic assassination. who do you think was better? I dont put much creedence at all in the regular season for teams that are playing deep into the playoffs every year. I get they were almost bounced in each of the first 3 rounds but that just shows you how good the west was.

Agreed. They were the best team this year, hard as it is to admit. Yet to do it they needed to be the 5th team ever in NA sports history to overcome a 3-0 series deficit, overcome a 3-2 series deficit in the 2nd round, win a game 7 on the road against the defending champs, and then coast through the Eastern champ (i forgot who already)

What's insane is this could be 7-1 or 8-1 fairly easily. Spain has been conceding good chances pretty much the entire half. This is shocking.

This makes group B much more interesting. The Dutch will have at least 3 more points via the socceroos so they will be through. It will come down to Spain needing 3 points against Chile. A draw or loss and they are out. This is assuming: -Australia doesn't get any points -Chile doesn't get blown out by the Netherlands
