  1. Barely looks like he belongs on the field while hitting 7 HR in 80 AB or something. Not bad. Oh and 3.2 WAR pace for meaningless [expletive] and giggles. I didn't say he always looks like that. Just days like today.
  2. He barely looks like he belongs on the field. Can't wait until he gets it together. Hard to watch at the moment.
  3. I don't get how Bryant is less capable of having elite plate discipline and power potential. I'm guessing people look at Bryant's K rate and get this perception that he's a slightly less free swinging Baez or something.
  4. He's so terrible. Finally some real stories for Derwood I laughed
  5. If any out of towners are excited about the youth movement for the rest of the season, MLB.TV is only $12 for the rest of the year for today only: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/index.jsp?c_id=mlb&partnerId=ed-8583198-735422013
  6. Any word on whether the Cubs are going to activate Soler before the game? Still holding out hope for an 9th inning game winning homer
  7. out of curiosity what is the long term difference between him coming up now, and him making the opening day roster?
  8. Has his power projection changed since we signed him? I remember when we signed Soler they said he might have the most raw power in the minors. Obviously Baez and Bryant are uber elite when it comes to power so saying Soler is a step down from them is not necessarily a bad thing, I was just always under the assumption that he was on that level.
  9. I'm so pissed, I'm going to Cincinnati for the weekend on Friday, I'm trying to convince my wife to go a day early, but the fact that its a day game really gives me no room for error.
  10. almost 2 months to the day ago, the Cubs lineup was... Lake, CF Sweeney, LF Rizzo, 1B Castro, SS Valbuena, 3B Schierholtz, RF Baker, C Barney, 2B Jackson, P Lake is at AAA, Schierholtz and Barney aren't with the team anymore, Jackson is on the DL and Sweeney is on the bench. They are replaced in the lineup with Alcantara, Soler, Baez, Turner and Coughlan
  11. Found it interesting Kap said Soler was almost called up 7-10 days ago but he went into that mini slump before righting himself the last couple of days. We might find out that the call up was related to an injury or something but there is a decent possibility that Theo and Jed literally saw Solers HR and said "ok that's enough he's coming up". Badass
  12. The best thing about that lineup I made is that I felt like I was putting together one of those fantasy lineups that I've made the last couple of years except this one contains players all on the MLB roster
  13. Nah, they won't break Soler in at cleanup. Castro 4th. And Soler/Coghlan would definitely switch positions. Might be a dumb question but how much of RF has Soler played?
  14. Castro will be back tomorrow too. Lineup guess tomorrow? Coughlan RF Baez 2B Rizzo 1B Soler LF Castro SS Alcantara CF Valbuena 3B Castillo C Turner P
  15. Edit: never mind. Now saying Jokisch was the one with trainer
  16. Early twitter speculation is that it didn't appear injury related. Not sure why he'd be pulled mid game for a promotion
  17. Yup. Good call.
  18. Dude just ban him for life already. This happens every year with him. I didn't see the hit but it's the damn preseason man.
  19. Yeah and DeCamilis' ST unit in Dallas went from 15th his last year there to 8th in 2013 So his 4 years in Dallas, they were 14th, 15th, 25th and 15th, then rise to 8th when he leaves. The Bears were 4th, 1st, 1st and 6th in Toub's last 4 years in Chicago and dropped to 11th when he left.
  20. No one posted about this and JRW was doing just fine. Then you go ahead and create a thread on it and they are about to lose. This is on you.
  21. He's trying to catch up to Bryant for the year.
