Yeah Doug and OB said 10,549 now shows, I do think ownership will get involved but the Bears/NFL are still getting their money from the season ticket holders if they show up or not. If the 10,000 fans that didn't come were going to spend $20 each, that's only $200,000. I am not sure if that is alarming enough for them to decide to eat $10m in contracts by cutting Trestman, Kromer, Tucker, DeCamilis, and possibly Emery, while paying another coaching staff at least $3m next year. I'm sure it got their attention to some degree though. -
Slightly misleading because of the league wide improvement in QB play, but another damning stat for the Trestman regime. At least they haven't allowed any more 50 point games (yet)

Yeah...and I don't get the calls to bench Cutler either. I mean, even if you think he's the worst QB ever to grace the football field with his presence, why would you replace him? People are impatient and want to see blood right now rather than waiting 13 days

Grudges probably thinks cutler should do all the press conferences. Emery made it clear he wasnt happy with how trestman handled kromer situation. He may be gone tomorrow. I agree. He made it a point to say that Trestman was responsible for dealing with the Kromer thing, which was largely mocked by the media. Beginning stages of throwing Trestman under the bus. I don't think he's gone tomorrow but I think it's increasingly likely he's gone after the season.

Cutler came out 1st for his PC, really early while most of the reporters were still in the locker room. He answered like 3 questions and left because no one knew he was talking. Also media was told that Trestman will not be talking to the media Tuesday and Wednesday strangely

Which? We have a slew of undrafted DBs probably one of them. No the offensive lineman that's giving up pressure as if it was going out of style.

Honesty how much hate can you build up for a team with few expectations that was out of contention by mid-April? How many 1997 Cubs games did you watch after Memorial Day. Of the ones that you did watch, how much emotion did you feel when things went bad in the games?

Yeah that undrafted rookie was probably undrafted for a reason. He's been absolutely terrible.

Can we make this the group consensus most absurd post of the night? Pretty please Why? Gruden is terrible. Cutler is bad. Drew Brees has been efficient and as he goes, the Saints go this year. Saying this is the best NO has looked in awhile isn't some great leap. You have to consider the competition. The Bears have flatlined. Their LBs are a bunch of backups, the secondary is probably the worst in the league. The offensive line has been dreadful for weeks. The coaches are killing the QB in the media and issuing tearful apologies 2 days later. The team is a complete mess, the players have likely turned on the coach, the QB hates his offensive coordinator, the coach is just sitting there waiting for the axe. You should be concerned that your only winning by 16

I think our being terrible for [expletive] ever has mad you forget how fun it is to actually have a competitive team. Give me 100 '04 teams over having to suffer through one more 2012 Don't get me wrong there were some great moments. The back to back HRs to tie and win it against Cincinnati, the 4 game sweep in Houston, the Corey Patterson 2 HR game against Pittsburgh in September and more but my lasting memory is a team I hated. I'll admit that part of it is personal because I loved to Chicago from NH in early September that year excited to see the playoff push and all I saw was no offense and Hawkins blowing saves. Maybe that has a bit to do with it. Fair point though

lol it's humorous no doubt but he's not making up hate for the 2004 Cubs. I'll read it again tomorrow when I'm not drunk though. It's not hard to find similar examples though. Just admit it's not a black and white issue and we can move on. Edit: and not in a "sure it's not a black and white issue if you are a middle school whatever you said before" way

I think I mentioned the expectations vs how it ended. That's a big part of it. No one is mad if Hector Rondon blows a save in a 90 loss season but when a team with WS aspirations blows a save with a Kearns HR after your ace struck out 16 guys in 9 innings and gave up only 1 run and then the players respond by calling to complain that the announcers are being too critical of them it lays the seeds of a hate able team
