  1. Of course the Cardinals are granted a timeout in the middle of an AB to fix the mound.
  2. So apparently Conte was allowed to re-enter the game for a play with his concussion... Jesus my disastrous college and pro seasons are blending together into one
  3. He looked really good. Hit a 3, got into the lane multiple times and finished. Not bad.
  4. For the second time in 5 weeks, a Bears player has the most detrimental play of the week according to whatever metric this is, which was Matt Forte's fumble, taking the Bears winning odds from 59% to 25% Cutlers 2nd INT was the 5th worst play of the week as well. http://regressing.deadspin.com/matt-fortes-fumble-was-the-most-damaging-play-of-week-5-1642887004/+benes
  5. I know you feel wronged, but I think calling it treason is a bit strong. lol I usually groan when people Cuse people's misspellings, but this one made me giggle. Wasn't that NC Cub Fan? Dammit it was. Serves me right for trying to be clever.
  6. Early look at PFF ratings:
  7. I know you feel wronged, but I think calling it treason is a bit strong. lol I usually groan when people Cuse people's misspellings, but this one made me giggle. Hahaha, didn't even notice. Honestly after I saw that I still get some postseason games I was kind of happy. Weird rules though. You can watch every ALDS and ALCS game, but only like 5 NL NLDS and NLCS games. But you get to watch every World Series game so that's kind of awesome. The weird thing is, with a cable package, I believe you can stream every postseason game on each station's respective apps. The only game I haven't been able to stream was Cardinals/Dodgers game 2, which was on MLB Network....and there's only 1 more MLB Network game left on the schedule, tonight's Giants/Nats game. Rest are on Fox, Fox Sports 1 and TBS. Maybe the MLB gets more restrictive as the playoffs go on, who knows.
  8. So far so good except the number of games.
  9. What I saw was the Bears finding success with Forte over and over again in the first half, then Carolina making adjustments to stop Forte from having that success, and then the Bears just throwing their hands up when the Forte gameplan stopped working. Carolina lost one of their best defenders in the first half, and Trestman didn't seem interested in exposing that weakness at all. Every time Jeffery was fed the ball, he made things happen. I'm speechless that the Bears didn't open up the field more against this team, especially in the second half when it was clear that Carolina changed their game plan to stop Forte. It didnt seem like they made adjustments to their offensive game plan in the second half when what they were doing in the first half wasn't working anymore. I noted in the game thread that the Bears were game planning beautifully against a heavy blitzing D going against an injured and inexperienced line. They dialed up a lot of quick passes with good blocking to allow for yards after the catch, took limited chances deep and kept moving the ball. But as the game went on, Carolina was bottling those plays up and jamming the WRs at the line and Cutler was less effective. 236 yards in the first half, 111 in the second. Of course the biggest difference was that the Bears defense was giving the offense extra possessions in the first half, while the Bears were giving it away in the second half.
  10. The Bears bomb atomically. i was hoping someone would make that connection
  11. That interview and what can only be called 'The John Baker Game' have made me a fan.
  12. I know you feel wronged, but I think calling it treason is a bit strong. lol I usually groan when people Cuse people's misspellings, but this one made me giggle.
  13. I just edited to reflect that. Week 1 was Corey Graham's revenge (INT of Cutler). Tice as well this week.
  14. The saga continues. No one else is starting these so I'm starting it even though the last 2 have been losses. The Falcons looked great at times and they've looked terrible at times. They are a much much better home team (2-0) than a road team (0-3). The last time they played at home, they won 56-14. Can't wait to see what Devin Hester does against us as the Bears homecoming tour continues (Corey Graham, Olsen, Hester, Lovie) The line is Atlanta -3.
  15. and giant fans get to eat lots of garlic fries Ahh I could go for some of those garlic fries right now
  16. I was almost kind of expecting this. The Patriots have you thinking they are done and then they come out and play a dominating game. I guess they never ever lose back to back games for a reason
  17. This is why while I'm thrilled about potentially O's-Royals I'm worried it's going to set up perfectly for the Cardinals to romp to the title.
  18. I can't believe we are like 18 outs from a Royals-Orioles ALCS.
  19. How do people seeing the next 3-5 years for the Bears going? I'm kind of concerned we are going to bottom out for a few years if we don't do anything this year. This is the NFL so unless you are completely devoid of impact talent and/or have terrible QBs you are going to have a shot to be decent or better each year but with the majority of our impact talent being over 30, it might be difficult to contend for the playoffs.
  20. So much for that A's - Tigers ALCS that was predestined in July
  21. Damn, great games next weekend. Too bad Oregon and UCLA both had to lose before their game.
  22. I'm surprised his brittle old man bones didn't disintegrate upon impact
  23. Maybe. I really don't know what to expect from this team. 3 of those 4 games are winnable but with this team I don't think any game would be considered an easy win. Would need to go 2-2 in those 4 games. If we do that, I would be ecstatic because I could see the Bears going 5-2 in the last 7 games, giving us an outside shot at a playoff spot. Sounds like the Bears are going to fall just short of the playoffs and everyone will keep their jobs to me. Football Hell. The previous coaches all lost their jobs after a 10 win season. This team wont win 10 games. Somebody explain to me why we needed to make changes two years ago but not now. Because it was clear after 9 seasons that Lovie was never going to coach a competent offense and Emery looked at the league as evolving to an offensive heavy league and wanted to keep up.
  24. more to dumb mistakes than penalties. like taking the kick off from 8 yards into the end zone repeatedly, like running into the returner before he catches the ball, like one of your safeties thinking you are in zone coverage on the single biggest play of the season on jailhouse blitz, like giving up on plays before they are over, etc. like i said before, though...we have a bunch of idiots at the bottom of the roster who are doing stupid [expletive] trying to gamble their way into cementing a roster spot. we also have a lot of turnover at the bottom of the roster and a [expletive] ST coach. how do the other teams who do that like seattle and NE avoid having idiots do dumb things when they are constantly bringing in new idiots too? OK so we hired the wrong defensive and special teams coaches. We can't afford non-idiots at the bottom of the roster so they keep making dumb mistakes to cost us....and why can't we afford them? Because we've invested a [expletive] in our offense who currently is performing slightly above average. That was supposed to be the thing that would allows us to win when everything else was failing, and instead we are getting 20-25 points a game from them. Which would be awesome in 2005 but not good enough for this team. If we're going to invest a lot more in offense because our coach is an offensive mastermind, I need to see more results. why are you only counting this year's points then? the injuries are not a non-factor, and the fact that guys have played through them doesn't handwave that away. I'm not. I mentioned that and injuries on the OP. maybe I should give them more of a slack bc of the injures though. As you said even though the skill players have started every game Jeffery and Marshall have both been less than 100% and it's showed.
