  1. They should get another compensation pick too because they looked so bad in the NLCS. Poor small market team.
  2. Looking at the Eagles last year they started 3-5 but then faced: 4-12 Raiders ® 8-7-1 Rodgersless Packers ® 3-13 Redskins (H) 10-6 Cardinals (H) 7-9 Lions (H) 5-10-1 Vikings ® 8-8 Bears (H) 8-8 Cowboys ® That's a pretty soft schedule overall. Bears schedule gets softer but still have 5 games against teams that are on pace to finish 11-5 or better: 5-2 Pats ®, 5-2 Packers ®, 5-2 Lions ®, 6-1 Cowboys (H) and 5-2 Lions (H) It's an interesting comparison though, thanks for pointing that out.
  3. This. 100% This. At what point do you join the loud chorus of people who have given up on Cutler? Just curious. Obviously from a national perspective, pretty much everyone already has. I think this is the first year that locally I've seen the beat reporters and the radio guys starting to dump on him and think of him as a wildly erratic and inconsistent starter. I've turned on him in terms of being a MVP caliber QB. That ship sailed awhile ago. He is what he is but I think he's still in the top half of QBs in the league and on his better days a top 10 QB. I believe he can lead a contender and yes I believe he can QB a Super Bowl champion.
  4. My 10-years and running keeper league went to 1 RB, 2 WRs and a FLEX this year, because of this fact. My 12 team league actually starts 3 RBs and 4 WRs and I don't mind it too much. It's very rare for any team to have 3 quality RBs starting (obviously) so it kind of evens out, but if you do have 3 quality RBs you have a major competitive edge. Right now I'm starting Foster, Branden Oliver and McFadden and its been working out ok. The worst thing about my league is we also start 2 QBs. Do the math...12 teams, 2 starters, 1 bench guy for injuries/bye weeks thats 36 QBs. Obviously only 32 start in the NFL so there are always teams in my league that literally are forced to start a backup hoping that the starter gets injured or replaced during the game or starting someone like Michael Vick and hoping they bring him in to run the wildcat or something. When your opponent has 2 QBs each putting up 20+ points and you start a guy who doesn't play, its almost always a guaranteed loss.
  5. I would bitch about having to play Sparty in EL 2 years in a row, but neither of the last 2 Michigan teams would have beaten them at home.
  6. Ola 2 Mills 2.5 http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=26786&team=3 For reference: Bushrod 1, DeLa Puente 2, Garza 0, Long 0, Slauson 0.5 That only adds up to 8. I guess the rest are from backs/TE? Not sure how the stats work. If so, that's a concern. I don't know how the stats work either, but I guess potentially there are coverage sacks that don't get pinned on one OL guy getting "beaten"?
  7. It sucks to be locked in to Cutler for another 2 seasons. I think this team is teetering on the brink of 'full rebuild' mode. Just too many holes and too many 30+ year olds. I go between agreeing with this and not agreeing with it. I don't think you ever need to rebuild in the NFL if you have a base of talent, stability at QB and at least an average drafting GM. I guess up for debate is how many of those the Bears have.
  8. The MLB has to find a way to make more flexible scheduling. The Royals and Giants both have 4 full days off before the World Series starts and during that time the rest of the world outside of KC and SF forget the season is still going on.
  9. I think its pretty cool that the Rams stole a play from the Bears (the punt return TD) 3 weeks after the Bears admitted they stole a play that the Rams ran on them last week. Got any other plays you can give our guys St. Louis?
  10. For anyone else on Obsessive Bill Simmons Watch, he posted his Guess the Lines podcast this afternoon! If anyone cares, he took the high road, mentioned that he was back after an absence, thanked the fans for their messages of support, made no other mention of his suspension and then carried on as normal.
  11. I think its *interesting* that Jay cancelled his radio appearance, but in no way damning. He has "manned up" and appeared on the show after worse games that yesterday, and Waddle/Silvy grilled him about mistakes, bad decisions, and even him shoving Webb on the sidelines during a game and he has taken it all.
  12. Fully agree here. And he could stand to change up a few. He should've let the "hotsauce" go when Korver left, imo. He pulled out a "does anyone know how to post videos to facebook" last night...when I barely remember the original commercial he's referencing now. Wait, seriously? OK well then he has to work on his timing then because yeah that was like 3 years ago and no one talks about it anymore.
  13. Bulls play the Cavs tonight, should be interesting.
  14. Khaseem Greene is not an NFL player. He's gotten multiple looks the last 2 years out of necessity and he's been terrible in just about every game.
  15. Full PFF ratings: http://i.imgur.com/dM6TjEr.png http://i.imgur.com/JVsysaj.png http://i.imgur.com/S3TWRwu.png If anyone is interested in even more detail, here is a link to everything: http://imgur.com/a/uBefI
  16. that's fine. he has enough goodwill with me to excuse his comments yesterday.
  17. David Haugh I believe said he played 12 of the 23 snaps for the Bears in the 4th and on the Dolphins 13 play TD drive in the third he only played 2 snaps.
  18. PFF Re-Focused Stats:
  19. Also the CBS guys yesterday pointed out that on the Dolphins first TD, Kyle Fuller was playing man while the rest of the defense was playing zone. While I'm obviously willing to give Fuller a break since a) he's a rookie and b) he's been awesome, just another example of the defense looking confused and ill prepared.
  20. If it wasn't the Patriots I'd be with you. I know the Patriots are not nearly as invincible as past years but I just think Belichick will coach circles around Trestman in this game and will find a way to shut down Jeffery and Marshall and limit Forte. Also if they set Revis on Marshall, there's no doubt in my mind that Jay will try to force a couple his way.
  21. I guess I'll keep creating these threads for this [expletive] show team. Bears 6.5 point dogs Last time the Bears and Pats played this happened: http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2010/1212/chi_a_cutler_pats1_576.jpg Bears lose 36-7 in the snow at Soldier Field. That was the year they went to the NFC Title game and were a good team. The time before that, in 2006, the Sex Cannon was launched and Asante Samuel was the proud recipient. Also this happened: http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2010/1209/nfl_g_brady11_300.jpg http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/60/files/2010/12/brady-jukes-urlacher3.jpg Bears lose 17-13. That was the year they went to the Super Bowl and were a really good team. The time before that, in 2002, the Bears coming off a division title hosted the Super Bowl Champion Patriots in Champaign. The Bears were in the middle of their fade from 2-0 to 4-12 so it was somewhat surprising when they built up a 27-6 lead midway through the 3rd quarter. But Tom Brady being Tom Brady, they went on a 27-3 run to win. Of course the Bears will always hold the trump card because: http://www.sikids.com/sites/default/files/multimedia/photo_gallery/1201/nfl-giants-patriots-super-bowl-appearances/images/super-bowl-xx-richard-dent-07900601.jpg
  22. Just a reminder, Jared Allen is still winless at Soldier Field in his career. Also related to Allen apparently wasn't in during several stretches of the 2nd half. I guess they asked him about it and he said to ask Tucker.
  23. Agreed. Bennett's comments are spot on. The fans don't owe the players anything and vice versa. Bears tickets are like $300 a seat, you buy them hoping to be entertained and when your team shits the bed you are upset.
  24. Haugh wrote a pretty scathing article pretty much calling for Trestmans head
  25. lol are you serious It's just not our year on all levels. Were just getting [expletive] on week after week. Oh well. It's really been like this since everything went right in 2010. We sold our souls to the devil only to lose to Green Bay in the NFCG. I remember not having a single player on the injury report before the playoff games and thinking that one day this was going to even out. Didn't think it would be 4 years of evening out.
