I'm not discounting him signing with the Cubs but I'm not sure about the logic. The FO has shown time and time again that they are sticking to their plan, which includes not overpaying their predetermined price for FAs. If another team pays more than they want to they will let him go. To add to that, they've pretty much set the expectations that this year will be an improvement but 2016 is the year they target to seriously contend. Next years FA pitching is even better than this years. They won't have a problem letting Lester go, signing a middle of the road FA starter with value and then go after Price or Zimmerman next year.
