  1. The best thing about this season is the move to CHSN. I can't watch them so I don't and havent really spent much time thinking about them either.
  2. I'm really glad I befriended the guy on my kids soccer team that has had Fire season tickets for years.
  3. Yeah that's why I thought the QB thing was overrated for LV. You can get Fields, Russ, Darnold, potentially Cam Ward, Sanders, Ewers, Milroe in the draft. He can even grab Howell I'm sure 🤣 Would you take Caleb over every one of them, yes, but there are enough options out there to give him something to work with. That plus I'm sure they're offering him more money and they were willing to sync up their GM with him which he pretty clearly stated is what he wanted and I can see why he choose the Raiders if that's where he goes.
  4. True, but Johnson is being notoriously choosy about where he goes and the situation, etc. He likely would have already been an NFL HC this season if he wasnt so choosy Feel bad for Caleb if Johnson goes to the Raiders. He sounded like he was almost pleading for Ben Johnson on the St Brown Brothers podcast released today. He ended it with "and if its not Ben Johnson........it is what it is"
  5. Did anyone see that report yesterday that Ben Johnson was insisting that the Commanders keep Sam Howell as their QB while he was interviewing with them? The Commanders said 'no we're drafting a QB at 2 (Daniels)' and that was apparently the dealbreaker that caused the Commanders to turn their plane around. The report was coming from some Commanders people. I have no doubt Johnson could probably make Howell an above average QB (I just said this to trigger Kyle) and maybe Daniels doesn't fit his mold (or maybe he does I dunno I've been kinda disengaged from the coaching search), but given that, if I'm hiring Ben Johnson its probably better if you have your QB in place.
  6. Alright Kyle Darnold turned back into a pumpkin and Love isn’t a top 10 QB. Still think coaching plays a lot into QB development and Darnold had a fantastic year until the last few weeks, but I suppose they can’t work miracles
  7. 😂😂 They’ll have the finest new stadium in League Two
  8. There's no way that.....nah won't happen right?
  9. Hasn't the SEC been really solid the last few years? Had 8 teams in the tourney last year. I do remember thinking several years ago that the conference was Kentucky, Florida and maybe occasionally Tennessee but they've done a good job. It is definitely a little jarring when you see teams like Georgia being ranked.
  10. I went through the same thought track of Ben Johnson and the Cowboys and then immediately realized Jones is significantly worse than having a potential lame duck Ryan Poles as your GM.
  11. Numerous photos and videos of Brady socializing with players, coaches and front office types before games. I'm almost certain he will have some sort of contact with Ben Johnson, as its pretty much a job requirement to add insight to the broadcast based on conversations he has with people affiliated with the teams. Honestly, I don't think it's a huge deal, maybe I'm naive. It's more annoying and a clear conflict of interest that is so easy to fix by not assigning him to that game.
  12. "Hey Ben, the footballs might feel a little light for your players today, just go with it *winks*"
  13. This is absolutely annoying. Sorry Tom you cant be a color guy on TV and be an active owner of an NFL team (meaning helping to bring in coaches and FAs). You certainly shouldn't have extra access to a coach you are trying to woo. It probably not as big of a deal as I'm making it, but I'm assuming the Bears can't talk to Ben Johnson right now if they wanted to, while Brady can spend time with him to further try to sell him on the Raiders. This is a really easy fix, just switch commentators and put Greg Olson and whoever he works with (I barely pay attention to announcers and what they have to say) on the call. I know Olson is a former Bear and has spoken positively about them even after being traded but he doesn't have a vested interest in him coming to the Bears like Brady does with the Raiders.
  14. Ok after that doink went in after the number 2 pick led his team to a playoff win I’m convinced this entire operation is designed specifically to horsefeathers on the Bears.
  15. I desperately starting searching for a stream when I saw Spurs go to extra time and were forced to bring in Son, but they scored and I couldn’t find a stream so I just settled for looking at highlights on Twitter like this: I think I read that dude is a construction worker during the week lmao
  16. Vrabel was my number 2 I think after Johnson
  17. I get it. Trust me I do. All I get in my feed is right winged crap. But it’s still the dominant source of real time news sharing until BlueSky or whatever completely takes over. Banning all tweets would do a disservice to the forum. But I’ll absolutely be more careful about who’s tweets I’m sharing in the future
  18. Wait we don't want to link to X at all anymore or that specific account? I'm guessing you are referring to the specific account and now that I think about it, the account had that stupid pepe thing. It didnt even click with me until this morning. Apologies @Outshined_One and the board. Definitely not the image I want to project here.
  19. So this is going around Bears twitter tonight and people are saying that it means Caleb isn’t a franchise guy because he got duped. We really are the dumbest fanbase
  20. We wouldnt be Cubs fans if we weren't malignantly optimistic I guess
  21. Flipped on a dime and now PSU is sitting pretty. Very fun game. @Andy and @Derwood should have made some sort of fun bet for this game
  22. Beating the SP+ number 14 team at home and the SP+ number 33 team on a neutral field is not really going to do much to convince the people that throw out stats like 'James Franklin is 4-19 against Top 10 teams' that he's suddenly learned how to win big games. Also SMU being conference champion is pretty iffy. Yes they were the regular season conference champion, but they played the 2nd easiest P4 conference schedule in the country. And then they lost to a 3 loss team in the conference title game. Dammit I was trying to be somewhat cordial about Penn State and you ruined it lol
  23. Oh man James Franklin's gonna make it to the title game without breaking his 'cant win a big game' stigma. I'm mostly kidding, if they win tonight the monkey is off his back. Getting to the championship game is very impressive even if their road up to this point was extremely easy.
  24. If only our team was as consistent as George is. Oh wait, we are.
  25. I want Ben Johnson or if not him an offensive minded HC. Full Stop. But I don't hate the idea of a floor raiser...someone with a proven track record of building a winning culture. I don't particularly like McCarthy, but if Tomlin was available for instance, I'd be all over that (if the big offensive options werent available). 18 years with the Steelers, 0 losing seasons. That's incredible to me even if his ceiling is not that great. I bet he'd get the Bears into the playoffs next year though. Or maybe Pete Carroll but he's been out of the game for a few years and he's really old so I'm not sure if its a good move, but apparently he really wants the job and is trying to assemble a staff. But again, Ben Johnson should be the focus. Developing Caleb and building an offense to match his talents should be the number 1 consideration on any offseason decision. "Does this help Caleb succeed?"
