  1. Where are the reports about Caleb not putting the work in? I hadn't seen that yet
  2. this is how bad it's gotten. We have a Packers fan trying to talk us off the ledge and trying to convince us that the Bears have a chance even though we know they don't
  3. It is kind of funny to imagine how things would change should the Bears manage to win on Sunday. Given how desperate we are to beat the Packers, how badly the coaching staff needs a win, etc. It could have just as much of a morale boost as the hail mary was a blow to morale.
  4. No just 8 outs away (albeit with a 1 run lead, not 3 like in 2003)
  5. I wasn't old enough to remember 1984 so that doesn't sting for me as much, but looking back on it, definitely seems like a painful situation especially with the Cubs tying it in Game 4 late and the Padres getting the walk-off HR by Garvey, then the Durham grounder with a lead in the 7th inning. I always rationalized that we would have been waxed by the Tigers anyways.
  6. Also don’t forget this glaring red flag from this spring:
  7. It's just weird that he signed a giant extension right in the middle of that. I mean, yes if someone is throwing big guaranteed money at him, it's not like he's going to just refuse to sign it. He'll take the guaranteed money and then put up a fuss in the future if he decides he doesn't want to be here anymore. But he seemed pretty on board with everything at the time he signed the extension at least.
  8. This guy is a rando with 800 followers (almost as many as me!), but he was reporting pretty confidently that Waldron was out yesterday evening so I'm interested to read his story about the timeline based on what he might know. Of course the whole thing could be BS but I'm willing to give him a shot.
  9. Somewhat disagree. All 5 teams suck in part for reasons that can trace back to ownership. For different reasons maybe, but the problem is the owners. They all suck.
  10. I know we've seen Young and Richardson benched this year and it hasnt completely destroyed their relationship with the team but I don't think you can horsefeathers with benching Caleb regardless of the justification. Just opens up a giant can of worms with Caleb's team
  11. I've never seen a team that has publicly demanded so many things as this year's Bears team. We're constantly hearing reports, or straight from the players mouths, of what the coaching staff should be doing in their opinion. There is value to having a team that is vocal and not afraid to express their thoughts on things and push for change when change is needed, but this feels more like the inmates running the asylum type of behavior and another major indictment of the coaching staff.
  12. Caleb's tentativeness needs to be the number 1 thing to fix this week. While I wasn't quite like Kyle rooting for him to throw an INT, I don't think him throwing one would have been the worst thing in the world. He could at least realize that a 3 and out where you take 2 sacks is almost as damaging as an INT...
  13. He sounds like someone who has no idea what they are talking about so they use a bunch of vague and ultimately meaningless words to describe something
  14. This press conference is a mess
  15. Adam Schefter throws out speculation that Caleb might be benched for Bagent. I don't think that's going to happen, and if you listen to the video its his speculation as an option, but wild to even be discussing that. Edit: nevermind, Eberflus firmly stated Caleb is the starter
  16. What else am I going to do? my job? 😄
  17. You mean before last offseason right? He was absolutely one of, if not the biggest name of the last coaching cycle. It was surprising news that he turned down the Commanders job and committed to staying in Detroit another season.
  18. I'm just reading tweets and stories today about whats wrong with the Bears and I'm getting such a sense of deja vu. It's like the same horsefeathers. "The offensive coordinator doesn't know how to work to his players strengths", "the quarterback has no time to throw", "the wide receivers aren't getting open/the scheme is not helping them get open", "the QB is holding onto the ball too long" It's just the same thing over and over again. New GM, new coaches, new offense, new QB, new Oline, new WRs but the story is the same. It's just so unbelievably frustrating and I'm sick of it.
  19. Blackhawks win tonight in OT. I didn't see much of the game because I don't have CHSN but looks like they were outplayed, but I'll take any wins we can get. Edit: Also apparently this is the first time the Hawks have beaten the Wild in almost 5 years - 12/15/19 was the last win. Anyways, I was wondering what people have thought about Bedard so far this year. Again I don't have CHSN so I havent watched much but his advanced stats look pretty middling overall. I always have to remind myself that we're talking about the progress and performance of a 19 year old kid so middling is actually not that bad, especially as his offensive rating is actally in the 80 percentile despite only having 3 goals so far this year. His defense is atrocious though. Those that watch closer, is Bedard where we expected him to be at this far into his career? Do you still project him to end up in that uber elite tier of players (lets say top 10 skaters in the league)?
  20. last year Keenan Allen had one of the best years of his career. In 13 games he had 108 catches for 1,243 yards and 7 TD. Here is what he's currently projected to get over a 13 game span: 48 catches, 448 yards, 4 TD The Bears just destroy offensive players.
  21. This is a loser organization that consistently makes loser decisions
  22. I’m sitting here just stunned. I just don’t know where to go from here. The Bears feel farther away from relevancy than they were 2 years ago when they were 3-14. Is any of this salvageable? Are we ever going to be good? The Bears the last 12 years have done absolutely nothing to bring any joy to their fanbase outside of 2018 (which ended in the most painful way possible and then quickly proved to be a fluke of a season). How many more years of our lives have to be pissed away with nothing to be excited about from a football fandom standpoint?
  23. I would think they are absolutely keeping the team. Why would they sell? The Bears are all they have as a family and they have become billionaires due to their ownership. If they sold the Bears the entire family would be wandering aimlessly through life because they have literally no other reason to exist.
  24. I really didn’t think there was any chance that Eberflus got fired with a loss. And he still probably won’t. But that was about as bad as you could possibly play at home against a bottom 5 time. If he was trying to convince his bosses that he shouldn’t be fired, he did a very very very poor job of it.
  25. The funny thing is, this is probably a game that most fanbases would remember 20 years from now as the worst game they’ve ever seen their team play. I’m not sure this is even in the top 10 worst Bears performances that I’ve seen in my life.
