  1. Yeah it was well known that he was pretty conservative and religious. It's one thing to have conservative views and another to glorify and normalize a fascist felon. I'm not going to cancel him or whatever but I cant pretend it doesnt bother me. Because of all these NFL, soccer and MMA players doing the dance, the perception I've seen is that MAGA is "cool" now and people who would previously hide their views are now unafraid to be outwardly vocal about it. Again, trying to make Trump seem fun and cool is just a terrible look considering the destructive policies he is about to unleash.
  2. I think the fight is gone from this team, but I could be wrong. They put together a great effort last week only to be kicked in the balls yet again. Hard to keep getting up for the games, especially when they dont seem to like the coach.
  3. I so want to know what this was now 😂
  4. Could easily have 3 goals in the 2 legs. Just some awful inaccurate shot attempts.
  5. I am really not happy about Pulisic doing the "Trump dance" after the first goal. Apparently a bunch of NFL players and MMA fighters did it over the weekend as well. It shouldn't bother me but it does. Unless he was mocking Trump my impression of him has changed for the worse.
  6. I definitely look like a dick posting this but I wanted to look at a comparison after reading your post...not trying to horsefeathers on Caleb because I was encouraged yesterday and I honestly think at his *best* Caleb has looked better than the others, even Daniels. But its been very inconsistent so far. All these numbers are projected over 17 games...Maye's projection is more of a stretch because his pace is only based on 6 games while the others have started every game so far. Yards Comp % YPA TD INT QB rating QBR Daniels 3613 68.7 8.0 15 5 99.6 67.7 Nix 3516 65.5 6.4 22 9 89.3 55.4 Williams 3427 61.8 6.2 15 9 82.3 44.2 Maye 3002 66.8 6.8 22 15 87.5 59.3
  7. Bad salary cap situation, got rid of their top 2 WRs and instead of taking Nabers or Rome to replace them, took a tackle with the 5th pick. That tackle has been one of PFFs highest rated rookies so far this year. They then used a 2nd round pick on McConkey who has outproduced Rome by a decent margin. Most people expected this to be a rebuilding year for the Chargers given all the changes but here they are at 7-3 and headed towards a playoff spot while the Bears, who felt confident enough about their team to take a punter in the 4th round are virtually eliminated from playoff consideration with 7 games to play. I know Kyle will never agree with me on this but its coaching. It absolutely helps that they have an established elite QB who has thrown 1 INT this year but he was playing at an elite level when they were losing close games constantly too. Coaching matters and I refuse to believe otherwise.
  8. Exactly. I would have run a 5 yard out, maybe twice or another type of short pass if it doesn't work out the first play. Best case scenario you gain 5-10 yards and still have a TO in your pocket if you want to run it. Worst case scenario you get tacked in bounds and have to burn that TO and lose a little flexibility. I guess the real worst case scenario is Caleb throws an INT but if you cant trust your QB to not throw an INT on a short out pass with the game on the line, that's a big problem. The Bears had complete control of the game and the clock as long as they held that timeout and they chose to take all that control out of their hands because they were scared of a negative play. Season was essentially on the line and Eberflus chose to coach scared and got burned for it. We knew he would because that's how he's coached for 3 years in these situations.
  9. Caleb had a 85.2 PFF rating yesterday, highest a QB has had against GB this year. One of the biggest things that sucks about the ending is that while I recognize he had a solid game, the stink of the loss makes me not want to spend too much time thinking about it. But still, positive signs. That 4th down throw on the final drive had to be placed absolutely perfectly and it was. Takes balls to make that throw with the game on the line.
  10. Ehh...I'd rather not be looking for head coaching potential on the current staff. You don't want to end up like the Raiders who due to pressure from the players end up hiring their interim HC to be the permanent HC. They're now 2-8 and Pierce is likely to be fired. I know that's just one recent example but I guess I'm saying that the season is over...their playoff odds are apparently 1% at this point. I think its hard to evaluate the performance of a coach based on what are now meaningless games, and I'd rather do an actual HC search...don't give the Bears an opportunity to do something dumb because they'll probably do it. Moot point though because Eberflus isn't getting fired
  11. I know there’s butterfly effect and all of that but imagine a world where the Bears didn’t lose 3 games with 90+% odds of winning in the 4th quarter last year. They’re 10-7 and maybe in the playoffs. Imagine a world where the Bears defend a Hail Mary and don’t settle for a 46 yard FG when they had time and timeouts to get closer or at least move the ball to Santos’ preferred hash mark. They’re 6-4 and I believe in a playoff spot right now. Eberflus record goes from 14-30 to a more reasonable 19-25 and 16-11 over the last 2 years. Our playoff odds are currently at 1%. Changing those 2 things around and we’re probably around 50%. It’s just insane and I know I shouldn’t dwell on it. But it’s just dumbfounding and it’s hard to explain logically.
  12. The Packers players were apparently surprised the Bears didnt run another play or two. Shocker
  13. 1-16 in our last 17 against our arch rivals. Can’t remember if I already said that here or if it was in another place I’m venting at. You couldn’t have just given us this one sports gods? After all the horsefeathers we deal with as Bears fans? After all the terrible Chicago sports teams the last 7-8 years? Just one win over our hated rivals to feel good about ourselves? Anyways the Bears are now essentially 3.5 games out of the final NFC Wild Card spot due to losing the tiebreaker to Washington
  14. The ****** thing is he’ll still get credit for “pulling the team together” because they did everything they needed to win the except make the makable FG
  15. My wife thinks I’m crazy because I said like 5 times in a row “The Bears always miss this kick” as they were setting up. We all knew it was coming but it doesn’t make it suck any less.
  16. It’s too long to track. I’d be willing to bet my house that the Bears have had more soul crushing losses over the past 15 years than any other team. This isn’t a “only my teams” situation, I’m certain the Bears have had this happen more often
  17. Nah you play conservative and set yourself up for horsefeathers like this. Stupid to be scared of negative plays imo, 46 yards is not a chip shot for Santos.
  18. Just like I said. Conservative coaches lose games
  19. Unacceptable. 34 seconds and a timeout left and you just sit on a 46 yard FG. Fire Eberflus tomorrow
  20. I hate everything. Fire Eberflus
  21. This is Trestman in Minnesota all over again if he misses. Should have tried to gain more yards
  22. No you need more yards. Come on
  23. Omg. No sacks and please don’t miss the FG
  24. Perfect situation with Caleb needing to hit a deep pass as he’s been so adept at doing
