  1. Need about 3 more TOs to have a shot
  2. Yeah they suck. Getting to the second level with ease
  3. Yeah I haven't been following qualifying too closely but saw the results last night. Crazy that several of the countries that you'd normally see in the hex like Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Jamaica, Nicaragua and T&T either were eliminated or only made the playoff while countries like Curaco and Haiti qualified directly. It's going to be an interesting WC with the new format and all the first time qualifiers.
  4. How about just in general. Only friendlies but they’ve been beating some good squads lately.
  5. Tomlin has never had a losing season as Steelers head coach so I’m not sure if I’d call them a fake winning team. Definitely a fake good team though.
  6. Yeah I don't really care about this, I just thought it was interesting. Even if they actually aren't 7-3 good, winning brings positive vibes and can only be positive for the future. Plus this partially erases 30 years of inexplicable unlucky Bears losses we've all experienced. We were due for some positive luck. The only issue is if the winning causes Poles to believe that this team is a contender as assembled and has a Washington-like offseason.
  7. Especially when I'd argue they don't have a player currently on the roster as good as any of Billups, Rip, Prince, Rasheed or Ben Wallace. Maybe Budzelis gets there, but they seem far away from replicating either model.
  8. Has no bearing on next week's game but I thought it was wild that apparently the Steelers are 1-12 as a franchise in Chicago. The record is crazy but also only the 14th meeting in Chicago for 2 teams that started playing each other in 1934.
  9. That sounds extremely familiar…
  10. They came into this week 25th in DVOA. I have a feeling that won’t go up after this one.
  11. We find the dumbest ways to lose games. just waiting for JJ to finally find Jefferson deep and the crowd to go crazy
  12. Believe that this team is different or defer to the 40 years of Bears fandom where they blow this 95% of the time?
  13. I'm not putting labels on it. Outside of being a legit contender, watching a young team with a still to be defined ceiling figure it out is about as good as it gets in sports.
  14. It’s weird they look terrible much of the time but I still think their offense has a much higher upside than last year and a bit less of a defensive upside. They are just horribly undisciplined due to some combination of youth (one of the youngest in FBS) and incompetent coaching. They could lose out or they could beat Maryland and OSU and be on the CFP bubble. Who the hell knows
  15. The first time we faced the Vikings I was worried about their blitz happy defense and pass rush. Now that doesn't bother me nearly as much and I'm terrified about Jefferson and Addison running wild. JJ will make mistakes though, just gotta be opportunistic like we've been all year.
  16. I think you're mixing up Caleb Williams and Justin Fields. I'm not saying he doesn't still have occasional issues finding the open guy and hitting them accurately and in rhythm, but I really don't think there is a processing issue there like there was with Fields. He seems to have improved considerably this year at understanding the defense pre-snap, calling out audibles and adjustments. You can consistently see him go through progressions post-snap as well. He does break out of the pocket too soon at times, he does try for the big play when sometimes a dump off will do (like the 4th down play that DJ dropped in the end zone. Incredible throw but it was from like the 30 yard line and 4th and 4), but the reason for his TTT and Fields TTT is completely different IMO. While you want Caleb to improve better as a pocket passer, I've noticed that a high percentage of the Bears explosive plays (I believe the Bears are still towards the top of the league in explosive plays) are on plays that Caleb scrambles. I've stopped looking at those as bad things, they are a part of his game and what made him so highly touted. He needs to find a better balance of when to bail out and when to step up in the pocket but he's still a work in progress.
  17. Right, he missed all of rookie minicamp, OTAs and I believe the first week or two of training camp. That said, it seems like Caleb did develop some chemistry with Zaccheaus over that time so he was going to be given an extended shot. Unfortunately his career long issues with drops didn't magically get better and Burden is a beast so here we are.
  18. I’d have to see a reply but that throw looked too early and not competitive
  19. Where every Giants possession has ended: Bears 49 (downs) Giants 31 (punt) TD Bears 19 (downs) Bears 14 (FG) TD Bears 16 (fumble) needed 7 there…awful throw by caleb
  20. This could be a long rest of season if we get blown out by a 2-7 team at home @ MIN vs PIT @ PHI @ GB vs CLE vs. GB @ SF vs DET
  21. Bears looked like they were in control of the game until that ridiculous Slayton catch. 2 solid offensive drives with a TD, Already a stop on defense, 3rd and 10 deep in Giants territory on their 2nd drive and things completely changed after that.
  22. Sorry I don’t think it’s ever acceptable to punt from your opponents 36. Go for it if you don’t trust your kicker/conditions are bad.
  23. This kind of soured me on him. He'd be better off on a team that faces the Cubs a lot. I'm sure with constant exposure to 98+ mph he'd likely adapt, but its a risk
  24. Yeah honestly my hesitation to embrace him even though I'm aware of the details is just an overall disgust of sex crimes involving minors (duh). But given the details, the further removed from the incident he is without further issues the less I worry about it. Now I hesitate to embrace him because the Bulls are depressing, results of the first 7 games notwithstanding.
