  1. http://www.bucsdugout.com/2016/5/2/11572334/pregame-cubs-come-to-town-for-big-err-non-routine-series I'm surprised you didn't post the next blurb about the Pirates player watching the Cubs-Braves game on TV and outwardly acting annoyed seeing the Cubs score 5 runs in the 8th to win. We're in their heads and its only May.
  2. The wrist thing worries me a bit because my observation is that sometimes wrist injuries can last a long time and can zap a hitters power if it hurts enough.
  3. Might make sense if both are out for a few days. Someone has to play RF
  4. Carrie got into the minibar again. She just cant help herself.
  5. More like white trash aka "kid rock"
  6. On a lesser team Grimmer would have already had a shot to close. On this team he's our 7th inning guy
  7. Don't believe the David hype. i don't even understand the sentimental castro love faction. he was REALLY bad for a couple of years, he never had the type of game most of us like (he didn't walk OR dong...he was basically really good at being a slappy hitter with an occasional hint of pop), he loved to do embarrassing things in the field (and none of what i said takes away from the fact that at other times he was a pretty good young player too), oh, and there was that whole might be a rapist thing that nobody seems to care about anymore. Ignoring the rapist thing as much as I can, as well as the fact that people get shot in his vicinity, there are a couple of reasons why I love him. 1) he came up during a period when the Cubs could not really produce position players from their system, it was awesome to see us have a young guy with skies the limit potential 2) hitting a 3 run bomb in his first ab, endearing moment 3) he was really the only thing to be mildly excited about for a couple of years. He dealt with a lot of horsefeathers years here and didn't complain like others *cough*Samardzija*cough* 4) he just seemed like a fun loving guy overall, his teammates seemed to like him 5) he created the helmet rub which was awesome 6) the clapping song
  8. How will the Cubs do again last good pitching? Oh just 15 base runners in 6.1 IP
  9. These teams really don't like each other.
  10. Still love Starlin but with him struggling a bit after a hot start, I can embrace Warren and say that he's a pretty swell guy.
  11. I can't believe that worked as perfectly as it did
  12. This is why we got Zobrist (well one of the reasons) Good contact w a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs
  13. I hate when a runner on 1st doesn't score on a double. Stupid sexy Rizzo hitting it too hard
  14. The calendar turned to May not July. Relax
  15. Come on guys I didn't even start an injury thread
  16. That was awesome. Congrats LCFC, fantastic story!
  17. Hmmm from what I see it doesn't look that bad. At least not bad enough for the game to be rained out entirely. Perhaps delays. Tuesday doesn't have any major rain in the forecast according to Accuweather and Wednesday it does say 'a couple of showers and thunderstorms'. But its a 12:35 local start for that one, with the Cubs having a night game the next day and the Pirates off so they could withstand some delays.
  18. Sitting Heyward against a righty with a lefty pitching tomorrow is a curious decision. Maybe Maddon is giving him 2 mental days off but it doesn't make sense to sit our best fielder 2 days in a row.
  19. I was thinking about suggesting that but for now the Cubs are winning and scoring lots of runs with him hitting there. Dropping him brings more attention to his struggles (especially after signing the largest contract in Cubs history). And while his strikeout rate is 5% higher than last year, he's not striking out at outrageous levels and is still working the count taking walks.
  20. Manny Ramirez, Zach Miller, Hoyer, Willie Young and Freeman are all over 30 but the last 3 are exactly 30.
  21. You think Billy Beane is scared of dealing with us? Do you think he wasn't fully aware of what he was doing when he made that trade and feels like he had the wool pulled over on him? I know ffs he told Theo he just traded him Barry Larkin when the deal was made
