    OH look Joe Smith is magically hurt right as we need to make a roster move. Just like Clayton Richard was hurt before or Cahill, etc Its probably like Brandon Dassey's interrogation.

    He would play on the top lines with Toews. Have to think Boston and Pittsburgh are favorites over the Hawks though. Why though? I can understand Boston given that he's from the area. But why Pittsburgh over the Hawks other than that its closer to the east coast? I saw some speculation that the Hawks trading away young talent in recent years might be a knock against him as he doesn't want to choose the Hawks and then get traded to Edmonton in 2 years.

    Anyone else following the Jimmy Vesey situation? He could be a steal for the Hawks, who are meeting with him today. Based on Hockey's Future ratings, he would instantly be our top prospect.

    The numbers are pretty good. I'm going off B-R for WAR because Fangraphs is inexplicably down (NL ranks) BA: 19th OBP: 5th SLG: 2nd OPS: 2nd HR: 7th RBI: 3rd 2B: 1st BB: 6th WAR: 2nd (4.7 behind KB's 5.5) The only major issues are that I think defensive WAR is underrated him (just IMO from watching him every day), and the fact that he has a teammate who is also a major MVP candidate.

    Only the 2016 Cubs could sweep a doubleheader, giving up 1 run in the process and leave me feeling annoyed. Or maybe that's just a problem with me

    I've noticed he dials it down a bit when he needs to throw a strike or focus on location

    Wood is so horsefeathering weird. He sucks but not enough to be a complete disaster but enough for him to annoy you. And just when you reach peak annoyance, he randomly comes in for long relief and throws 4 perfect innings and makes a great play in LF.

    A couple of things 1) I think Wrigley has been very suppressed environment for dongs his year. I think there have only been 12 games with the wind blowing out this year 2) Missing a bat like Schwarber takes away like 30+ dongs. As does missing Soler for awhile. Heyward went from 15-20 HR power to 5-7 HR But yeah 13th in HR and 13th in SLG is slightly disappointing but who would you say is having a disappointing year with regards to HRs? Bryant should finish around 35, rizzo his usual 30-35, Fowler will probably have 13-15, Baez has 13 (DONG!), Russell already has a career high in HR, Ross has more HRs than last year, Zobrist will finish with his usual 14-15 HR. Only disappointments I can think of are Heyward and Montero

    The burden of proof changes from one play to the next. This is so true. One replay there has to be absolute irrefutable proof to overturn, the next they are making a judgement call on a 50-50 play, and the next they get irrefutable proof and don't overturn anyways
