  1. Yeah it's not like the pitching has been BABIP'd to death. They've been allowing a ton of hard contact and their control has been spotty to go along with it. if there are mechanical issues here then figure them out quickly. If the velocities are dropping than that's a big concern
  2. I believe they've allowed 27 HRs in both June and July. I believe that's right because I saw a stat last night that it was at 27 and 23 and the Pirates hit 4 HR since then
  3. Suggesting someone write an article analyzing the Cubs slump. Preferably one where the conclusion is that the Cubs are dealing with a perfect storm of bad luck.
  4. Bosio you've been a great pitching coach but you need to figure this horsefeathers out now
  5. Cubs have had the lead in I believe 6 of the last 7 games but are 1-5 in that stretch not counting today
  6. And right on cue the bad defense. Nothing changed overnight
  7. Now we're punching the Gatorade cooler
  8. That doesn't seem good. Rangers are very good. Cubs are very good, as well, regardless of how they look now. Should be a good series. Mets are losing a SP per day. Brewers suck. White Sox are pretty much an average team. Not scared. Mariners are literally average. See above. Marlins are annoying (seemingly always) but of course beatable. Plus, after today the Cubs won't go on the road again (other than the all stars) until July 21st. And even then it's only to Milwaukee and then directly back to Chicago to play the white sox. So, other than a short trip to Milwaukee, the Cubs essentially won't travel again until August 4th when they go to Oakland (hopefully Hill will be pitching against his old team for that trip). Plenty of time to rest up, regroup, and start kicking ass again. There is literally no reason a team this talented should be playing so poorly. It's just baseball and it'll balance itself out very soon. I'm as frustrated as anyone, but it's an aberration. Your right we shouldn't be concerned with a bunch of teams hovering around .500 and the Rangers. It's just difficult to keep perspective when you've 1 game against a team that's not the Reds over the last 21 days
  9. To compare the Cubs first 6 series are Rangers, Mets, Brewers, White Sox, Mariners, Marlins 5/6 at or above .500 We should probably go ahead and win today
  10. Looking at the L10 in the standings and seeing 1-9 next to the Cubs is weird.
  11. Tim even the most rational level headed posters have at least a small amount of concern. It's ok. You can still be supremely confident about the team making the playoffs and being a contender but there are reasons to be concerned right now
  12. Quick someone look up World Series winners who have lost 15 of 20 at some point in the season
  13. The Cubs will win this game. Oh wait I meant the Cubs will still win a game. Eventually. Maybe?
  14. Predictions on how many we give up this inning? I'll be optimistic and say 1
  15. LaStella 1-12 with 5K since coming off the DL. Just the shot in the arm we needed
  16. On the bright side even if we lose tonight and tomorrow we will still be on pace for 95 wins for the season
  17. Execution. Having trouble getting what should be relatively easy runs home from 3rd but we can sure pound the ball.
