  1. At his current rate he can go 7 with 105 pitches
  2. I missed it. What happened? Grounder to Russell he had to have a perfect throw to get Andrus. Throw was offline Rizzo had to leave bag to get it, sees the runner trying to score, air mails Willy who then throws out Andrus trying to take second
  3. Terrible defense come on. Can't give up that type of run facing Yu
  4. Feel like Hammel is leaving a lot up again
  5. Holy crap is he good. Did we make contact that inning?
  6. https://twitter.com/noslliw19/status/754064537255485440
  7. Absolutely, but there's zero worry about that. Last year they were seeing what they had with Bryant and a roster led by he and Rizzo went all the way to the NLCS. This year is about overwhelming muhs now and for as long as possible. They even admitted they weren't expecting the team to take off like it did so didn't go all in for improvements because it was a year ahead of schedule. In hindsight they probably regret that, but if you look at Theo's history, he's made a notable deal in basically every year his teams have been in contention. 2003: Scott Sauerbeck, Scott Williamson, Jeff Suppan. I was still living in Boston area at the team and definitely remembered fans being underwhelmed at the haul and I don't think any of them panned out (though Williamson saved all 3 red sox wins in the ALCS) 2004: Orlando Cabrera, Doug Mientkiewicz, Dave Roberts. 2005: Tony Graffanino, Alex Cora, Chad Bradford, Jose Cruz Jr 2006: So this was the exception. The Sox were 63-41 and a game up on 1st place at the deadline. They made no notable deals and, related or not, went 23-35 the rest of the way and finished well out of the playoff race. Theo is probably scared from that. 2007: Eric Gagne. Now begins a period of big deadline moves. Gagne was still seen as a huge game changer in 2007 2008: Jason Bay. Again, Jason Bay was still seen as a stud in 2008 2009: Victor Martinez, Casey Kotchman, Adam LaRoche, Chris Duncan. 2010: Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Kevin Cash. OK a bit of a down year but Salty was their starting catcher for a few years 2011: Erik Bedard, Mike Aviles, Josh Fields. So yeah I wouldnt be too concerned with Theo and co being silent at the deadline.
  8. Fred m'[expletive] Hornkohl, welcome back! Exactly a month between posts, maybe he was given a 30 day suspension :)
  9. My perception of him has gone 180 degrees since the season started
  10. I love how LaStella's walkup song is about a kid losing his virginity, as if he's hopeful he will have his 'oh what a night' moment one day.
  11. I could have sworn Almora was supposed to be fast
  12. This definitely feels like a April-early June type of Cubs game.
  13. Friday afternoon, killing time here
  14. He can be Clark's secretary Have you ever seen Clark and Dempster in the same place? Unfortunately
  15. I wish I could see a K Zone for that performance. I want to know if he was getting squeezed or what as I was at the game. I still partially blame Geo for not catching the foul tip 1-2 pitches before the grand slam.
  16. at least dempster wasnt around to ruin the 6th inning
  17. Usually Len is really damn good at determining who to shoo away after the stretch and who he should keep on the extra half inning. Poor job here.
  18. He's doing a terrible terrible job of keeping the voice up, the more he talks the less he sounds like the bastardized version of Harry that Ferrell did so well. For shame Demp, I used to like you when you were ok at pitching.
  19. I think Dempster is going to lose his mind and start believing he really is Harry Caray. We will see him stumbling around Wrigleyville on a Saturday night with this idiot getup going 'HEY! CUBS WIN!' and everyone will cross the street to avoid walking near the weirdo.
  20. lol that feels like the first hit Matt Szczur has had since May Ah man, you forget about his huge leadoff double in the 8th on Sunday that led to him scoring the winning run on KB's single?
  21. I was not in favor of that move, but it worked out greatly. Good stuff!
  22. Hendricks up to the minute season ERA: 2.43 Insane.
  23. Keeping Jim Edmonds' legacy alive
