  1. Heyward can't get his slugging % past .350, Lackey statistically has been our worst starter. "Revenge of the Cardinals" or "FA is a mixed bag for Theo"?
  2. I shudder at the fact that we probably see a lot of Richard today
  3. Alright so all of the pitchers benefited from the much needed rest except Lackey who just sucks donkey balls.
  4. At least 24 more chances to get a hit
  5. Ownage. Can't dong if you can't make contact
  6. If/when Rose is a disaster you get out of his contract in a year. Noah is a little different but I don't think it's something that would get Phil run out of town. Noah is probably done because of his knees but the gamble is that he is only 2 years removed from finishing top 5 in the MVP balloting (albeit before knee surgery), Brings energy and leadership, and worse case is still a very good passing big for the triangle. $18 million sounds insane but probably not among the worst 5-7 contracts given out this summer. And if taking 10 months away from basketball gives his knees an extra boost then it could be a decent contract.
  7. He's done that a couple of times against lefties as javy crushes them. That said I'd kind of like someone who can see some pitches in front of KB.
  8. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Shields has an era of 2.43 over his last 5 starts. I liked it better when he was the worst pitcher in baseball history
  9. The lineup that's not going to spend a weekend July afternoon getting no hit by Hamels this time. Hopefully KB got a nice look at that change up at the ASG and is ready to pounce
  10. They don't want them getting lost in the shuffle of a day that has 10ish games. They can make them on the 2nd or 3rd or something, just not NYE Nobody is going to lose them in the shuffle when they are the only 2 games that actually mean anything. I'm pretty sure there is only 1 bowl game at 3:30 (Rose Bowl) and 1 bowl game at night (whatever BCS game it is). Those can easily be the 2 playoff games and the Rose Bowl can just suck it up and play their game on NYE or the 2nd
  11. I love blurbs like this. In the first Darvish struck out Rizzo with a nasty slider. In the third with a 1-2 count, Yu threw the exact same pitch, located it perfectly, but Rizzo knocked it into right for a 2 run double.
  12. So we've at the very least won a series against the team that came in with the best record in the AL with the back of our rotation facing the front of theirs.
  13. Not Bryant's best day. 0-4 3K, double play grounder he beat out
  14. You probably shouldn't go to 3 balls against every batter you face when protecting a 2 run lead Adam
  15. 1 run lead with 2 on and 2 outs in the 6th. Pitcher who is doing well is benched for Szczur. Sounds like yesterday Don't feel as well with him facing a righty though. Edit: guess I'm wrong. Hit to same spot too!
  16. One of those "good contact hit to the wrong spot" days I see
  17. Damn I would have enjoyed a 3-1 lead
  18. Wow LaStella owns Darvish even though that was an out
  19. Ok we get it they have some interesting interactions while catching fly balls
  20. Too bad he couldn't sacrifice the runner to 2nd now with Seal Boys hit
