  1. Great off-day reading. Basically Rizzo, Bryant and Ross talking to each other and giving each other horsefeathers http://www.theplayerstribune.com/cubs-anthony-rizzo-kris-bryant-david-ross-retirement/ My favorite is either Bryzzo giving Ross crap for running off the field with 2 outs in the NLCS/trying to throw out a runner between first and second after the Diamondbacks won the game or this part:
  2. I'm over it. The name Mark Prior does not spark any emotion in me positive or negative. Although Dusty Baker still does, but mostly because he's a bumbling moron who blamed everyone but himself for the Cubs failing to win after 2003.
  3. I was thinking the exact same before. Just don't lose to the Mets or Cards, please. I would hate losing to the Cards this year more than anything in the world. I would probably trade 2 of the Hawks Stanley Cups to prevent this from happening. It wouldnt erase the awesomeness of last September but it would certainly minimize it a bit. Anyways my new ranking of teams I'd want to see the Cubs play in the NLDS from most want to to least. This factors in chance of winning and how much I don't want to see us lose to them. Only including teams within 3 games of a playoff spot today. 1. Rockies 2. Marlins 3. Pirates 4. Dodgers (w or w/o Kershaw same spot) 5. Nationals 6. Mets 7. Giants 8. Cardinals
  4. One thing I learned from hearing the audio of this quote is that Lackey is a horrific mouth breather
  5. Strasburg won NL Pitcher of the Month going 4-1 with a 2.08 ERA Hendricks finished July 3-1 with a 1.07 ERA but whatevs
  6. Cubs have played at a 113 win pace since their pre-all star break swoon ended (14-6)
  7. Haha just realized our runs today were scored on a grounder up the middle, a wild pitch, a sac fly, a walk and another wild pitch. That's the value of having a team that gets on base constantly. Even if you don't get the big hit you can occasionally win games by putting constant pressure on the opposing pitchers
  8. Cubs are back to being on pace for 100 wins
  9. I can swear someone made a comment about Ramos being lock down closer so the game is probably over, but I can't find the quote, maybe it was deleted.
  10. This is a MUCH better way to go into an offday! 7-1 homestand
  11. God I want to see Willy get a walk off so badly. He will be awesome
  12. For some reason Zobrist always seems to come up in these situations with 2 outs in the 9th with the tying run in scoring position. He hasnt come through yet.
  13. That makes me sick to my stomach that you can decide a game on such a bad call
  14. ill happily take a walk rather than a K even if that sets up the DP for Rizzo
  15. Come on Bryant, he is so jumpy in these situations
  16. KB show that crappy blogger that he is wrong.
  17. damn on my grainy crappy feed I thought that was a HR off the bat
  18. Man he's been all over the place why offer at that Dex?
  19. And Joe can't possibly call for a bunt here!
