  1. You summed this up perfectly for me. This should not be happening. This was supposed to be easy sailing until October but then Tripp Gibson came into my life
  2. Georgie make it hurt extra bad when you end this horsefeathers
  3. I say horsefeathers the conclusive evidence thing. Call what you think the right call is. On that play the umpire was not even in position to see the tag. Why should his call hold any extra weight when looking at a replay
  4. Umps continue to try to get the Pirates into the plaoffs
  5. He's like the Mike Olt of umpiring
  6. Unless I'm counting wrong they have 3 guys left. bastardo, Locke and nicasio
  7. Dammit lefties should not be reaching against Chapman
  8. Damn, Jake didn't hit his spot but I did not realize how good of a pitch that was on Polancos HR.
  9. It seems like whenever he's not hitting well he always gets fooled by pitches in that location. And while overall he's been hitting fine the last 4 games he's like 3-20 so possibly going into a bit of a funk
  10. 2015 Jake is not here, not even first half. Unless his slider and/or command improve, that Jake is not coming back. 2016 Jake is plenty good, but he's also going to be prone to having days where things don't go like they should. For a point of comparison, 2015 Lester gave up 4+ runs in 8 different starts and was still a 5 win pitcher. They struggle in different ways, but in terms of putting their quality/mortality into place, it's a helpful analogy. That is helpful. I think that despite all the articles I've read explaining the difference between 2015 and 2016 Jake, I needed someone flat out tell me he's not likely to be back but that this Jake is good in his own lesser way
  11. So regarding Jake. He had good stuff tonight, clearly got squeezed a number of times, had at least 3 weak contact bloops fall in for hits that I counted Overall didn't pitch that bad. But he gave up 6 ER and I feel like I've been saying "well he didn't pitch bad" to defend games where he gave up more than 2 runs a lot. Is he just exceedingly unlucky this year, should I just accept that he's not going to have a 1.73 ERA every year and 2.84 is still very good, or should I be mildly concerned that jake hasn't been the unbeatable monster he was last year and occasionally lapses into moments of poor control or that he isn't throwing his devastating cutter or what I need NSBB to tell me how I should feel because many of you are either baseball smarter, more level headed or both
  12. Yesterday I said I have felt very little emotion about losing these games. I feel like a hypocrite because this game has annoyed the horsefeathers out of me. I'm not like depressed that we are likely to lose. I feel like the umpires flat out stole this one. Plus the pirates are stupid and have hit Jake pretty well the last 3 times they faced them. I liked the narrative that the Pirates can't beat us and can't score on Jake better
  13. I'm actually annoyed no one has forcefully gotten tossed yet. This is a terrible ump who should be fired after the game
