  1. I don't know how the Giants have 6 guys in their lineup with more than 2 hits in the series and the Cubs only have 2. Feels like the Giants couldn't hit horsefeathers for 2.5 games
  2. I hate these slightly longer commercial breaks. Throws my damn timing off everytime
  3. Giants get so lucky. They probably have 3-4 runs scored this series by manufacturing runs with sac flies and well placed grounders I can think of at least 1 of those in each of the last 3 games
  4. Lackeys had some shaky 1st innings this year only to settle down. Keep them to 1 and we'll be ok
  5. The Chicago weather is basically telling the Cubs to horsefeathering win tonight because we don't want to see a game on Thursday. It's by far the coldest day of the week with warm days book ending it.
  6. Yeah but is it all that exciting when you know they are going to waste their career with a mediocre at best team?
  7. Yeah, I guess they could hypothetically throw Hill on 3 days rest. But they will be opposed by Scherzer.
  8. I love when panic filled teams start their ace on short rest in Game 4 and it backfires. Normally I'd say do whatever you have to do to win Game 4 before you worry about Game 5, but when there is a chance that your Game 4 starter will have less than his best stuff plus will not be able to throw as many pitches, it seems like an unnecessary move.
  9. http://www.statcorner.com/CatcherReport.php Contreras is not on the level of Ross and especially Montero, but he's above average compared to MLB as a whole.
  10. Yeah not sure about Ross with the way Willy has been hitting lately and Lackey doesn't seem to have any problem with him catching his starts. But whatever lets do this.
  11. Yeah last night even when the score was 3-1 I was carefree, playing with my kids, playing some guitar, etc while watching. I wasn't nervous because I felt like I'd seen this game 80+ times this year, Cubs get a multiple run lead, pitching shuts them down and sucks the life out of the opponent. When Jake started getting squared up in the 5th inning it felt like a completely different game all of the sudden.
  12. Jesse Rogers says the Cubs will have their "regular lineup" tonight with Javy at 2B, but not sure who is catching. So guessing Fowler Bryant Rizzo Zobrist Russell Heyward Baez Contreras Lackey Would love to see Javy and Willy higher up in the order though.
  13. Gooooooo Nats
  14. I mean the Cubs are the better team so picking the better team to win tonight would be the smart choice. Any other choice and I'd be letting emotions get int he way.
  15. looking forward to joe's post-game comments where he talks about taking ski's advice and made sure all the players panicked and horsefeathers their pants before the game in order to get that elusive W. More likely its Joe explaining why the Cubs decided to forfeit Games 4-5 because they were convinced by online experts that the series was over and they had no chance of winning.
  16. Let's not even discuss the possibility of losing this game. The Cubs are going to win today and that's that
  17. Yes he's gotta start. Will be interesting to see what Maddon does with the OF again. Moore is a lefty but he doesn't have extreme L/R splits for his career so I wouldn't be surprised to see Heyward back in there. Dex 8 KB 5 Riz 3 Zo 7 Addy 6 Heyward 9 Javy 4 Willy 2 Lack 1 Although 5-8 could easily be completely different, that's just my guess at how Joe will do it.
  18. I've only been there for the NCAA tournament so have never seen it in football configuration. Looked really cool with the roof and windows open as I don't think I've ever seen a game in that state before on TV.
  19. My horsefeathering babies decided that immediately after the game was the best time to both wake up. They have impecible timing.
  20. Ha, whatever I am all for bringing back Logan though
  21. Well, now I kinda want to root for a loss so you can never besmirch another playoff game thread. Dude that just was the set up for the big reveal of goofy faced Lackey. You are better at detecting humor than that, even bad humor.
  22. It sucks that Jake's HR and KB's HR have to go along with Sosa's and K. Wood's in home runs I loved in losing efforts. I don't even have the heart to dig up Pat and Ron's call of them, but if they won I'd probably listen to it on loop all day.
  23. Yep, although just a complete shutdown 1-0 loss to Bumgarner wouldn't have been too bad of a scenario because then you just chalk it up to Bumgarner dominating but hey at least you probably won't see him again and Jake was just as good. This scenario gives me a lot of confidence in the Cubs as a whole but definitely worried about Jake moving forward even though the overall numbers weren't terrible.
  24. He's a veteran enough poster to know when to avoid NSBB like the plague.
