  1. yeah ive had a desk job with a lot of downtime for way too long. If we had WAR for NSBB posters I'd be somewhere in the mid-20s. I'm like the Juan Pierre of the board.
  2. Most wins in a season since 1945 1 more win and we're at most wins since 1935 4 more wins and we're at the most wins since 1910
  3. Why is this realization even in your brain in the first place. BECAUSE UMFAN If you really want my thought process, I heard the 5-70 number on ESPN's broadcast when I flipped to it for a bit. Then I remembered he homered off of us in the last series recently so I looked it up and voila! Are you really questioning my encyclopedia knowledge of Cubs losses?
  4. This is the last inning Len and JD will call at home this year because the next 2 games are on FOX and ESPN and obviously won't be calling the playoffs (on TV at least).
  5. Moss is in a 5-70 slump, but somehow during that slump he managed to have a game where he went 2-3 with a game winning home run against the Cubs. Not doing the 'only my teams' thing here because we are too good of a baseball team for that, just an oddity that in any other season would have my pulling my hair out because umfan
  6. they require more pitches than other types of outs if you're pitching well and getting outs, a high strikeout start is going to typically take more pitches than otherwise obviously, if you're not pitching well and not getting outs, and giving up lots of hits and runs, that is not going to result in a low pitch count either He's been pretty darn efficient with the pitch count, anyway. 99 in 7 innings is an average of 14.1 per inning. Anything less than 15 is really solid. The lowest average on the season of any qualified starter this season is 14.3 for Nova. In a playoff game, he gives you 8 scoreless on 113 pitches and you hand the ball over to Chapman. Can't ask for much more than that. Yeah this is true. I guess thinking about it, with the artificial 100 pitch count ceiling we've had recently, 7 innings is pretty good. Even 2015 God Mode Jake had plenty of 7 inning outings.
  7. At 85 through 6, not terribly efficient but should give him another inning before Stropy and someone else finish it off. Would really like to see him get through the 7th without much issue.
  8. he's definitely looked a lot more in control and that fly ball to Heyward a second ago is the only time I remember a ball being hit fairly hard today. My one gripe is that he's still been getting behind hitters early in the count more than I'd like, but he has such good stuff today that he's been able to get them out.
  9. Addy has left a lot of runners on base lately. Makes me sad, I really want to see him hit 100
  10. I think Zobrist would hit better if he changed up his walkup music. Yes I know his wife is threatening to withhold sex if he doesn't play it, but dude really needs a song that will get him and the crowd more pumped up and I think that's more important than sex right now.
  11. Zo, make sure you don't GIDP here. Addy needs his RBIs
  12. they kind of suck everywhere except for hitting HRs, Carlos Martinez and possibly Reyes Until he hurt his oblique, Carpenter was just generally awesome. Oh yeah sorry and him
  13. they kind of suck everywhere except for hitting HRs, Carlos Martinez and possibly Reyes
  14. It's typically been 1-2 days after the registration closes if I recall correctly. Anyone want to team up, if they get selected you buy a seat for the other if they don't, and vice versa? I really really don't want to be shut out again this year Im your huckleberry. Did a bunch of dif emails this year too. Same here. It's a deal
  15. I think they explained on the broadcast that because the ball hit the dirt on both occasions, they have to be called wild pitches because a catcher can't be held accountable for what happens after the ball hits the dirt. Or something like that.
  16. how are you so far behind Didn't realize I was that far behind...I'm watching on a stream of questionable legitimacy.
  17. Jake's got himself in quite a jam if they call this a HBP
  18. posting this here because it has the most traffic right now
  19. Who was that moron who was slightly concerned the Cubs offense wouldn't heat back up for the playoffs? I want to mock him Come to think about it, his name was...it was me. Damn
