  1. let a low slider go right between his legs which allowed a run to score Oh, ok...that happened a few batters back though...I thought something more recent. Happened again
  2. Consider? Yes, but still probably don't. Hendricks is better at home and I'm not pushing Lester back. i am not convinced that this is an actual thing, despite the splits FWIW, taking a quick glance of the stats tells me Hendricks was much better at home last year as well, and had better numbers at home in 2014 but the peripherals were better on the road that year.
  3. Its soooooo much better knowing they are playing for their playoff lives and our guys are more focused on making sure the PA guy plays 'Forever Young' during Rizzo's first PA
  4. And that is why I'm not particularly scared of any of the WC teams
  5. That's a good question. If he pitches game 2 and is in god mode and Lester is shaky, they would both be available on enough rest for game 5 so you could choose which to throw. As awesome as Hendricks has been and still is, I don't think Joe considers him for a game 5 over Lester so you are riding with Jon, with Jake maybe someone who can come out of the pen if absolutely needed. Lets hope it doesn't get to that.
  6. Good guy for offering them up for free. Wish I could take you up on it but I'm stuck in Oakbrook
  7. As someone with lots of experience, I can tell you that the Cubs do send rejection emails if you don't win the lottery. They are cold and unsympathetic.
  8. I'll just leave this here [tweet] [/tweet]
  9. It's typically been 1-2 days after the registration closes if I recall correctly. Anyone want to team up, if they get selected you buy a seat for the other if they don't, and vice versa? I really really don't want to be shut out again this year I thought you were banned from any postseason games? I'll just wear a hat and a cheap fake moustache and the Cubs won't know it's me.

  11. 1 "expert" - Walter Football - Picks the Bears to win this week out of the 90 or so predictions listed on that nflpickwatch.com site.
  12. Sorry, but is this a mistype or intentional? I gotta know if you thought that was two words. He means the bullpen has a keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations and a keen sense of what is appropriate, tasteful, or aesthetically pleasing; taste; discrimination. Yes, exactly. I can tell Strop was very critical of Steve Clevenger's tweets and his own views on BLM have been reasonable and appropriate. He is a necessary addition to the bullpen to keep them in tact
  13. Sorry, but is this a mistype or intentional? I gotta know if you thought that was two words. mistype, here's proof of me using it correctly in the past (strangely also about Strop) viewtopic.php?f=2&t=851&p=80645&hilit=intact#p80645
  14. Looks like Stropy was activated as expected. Bullpen of doom is in tact
  15. Stupid hateable Mets with their collection of likeable bat flippers.
  16. Just want to point out that sad sack Atlanta is 29-25 since July 26th Not saying they aren't necessarily sad sack but they've been pretty decent as of late
  17. Renowned woman abuser Jose Reyes ties it up
  18. The AL wild card is really bunching up too. 6 teams (Jays, Orioles, Tigers, Astros, Mariners and Yankees) are within 2.5 games of a wild card spot and 3.5 games of both wild card spots. Please give me maximum chaos
  19. wait what To be fair to the Diamonbacks they had to play the 90 win Rockies and 89 win Padres 19 times each. Meanwhile the Cubs played in the NL Central. I wouldnt say that the Cubs were "on paper" better than Arizona. It is debatable who was better on paper. The only team the Cubs were far and away better than "on paper" of the last 4 playoff losses was the 2008 Dodgers. The Diamondbacks played like a 79 win team based on pythag. Even if you count the relative tough teams they played, they performed like a sub .500 team. The 2007 Cubs, admittedly no world beaters, started the season terribly at 22-31. They then played at a 94 win pace for the last 109 games of the season (63-46) to win the division. You can't discount the 53 games they played earlier in the year but its clear they were a much better team in September than they were in April.
  20. Mets fans on that board are all like: 'OMG we are so unlucky, I can't believe the team that was built completely on young pitching is having so many injury problems'
  21. The 2007 Diamondbacks had a -20 run differential for the season. They finished 11 games better than their pythag. The 2007 Cubs had a +62 run differential and finished 2 games worse than their pythag.
  22. This was so well written that I am now actively rooting for the Mets to be the opponent instead of just having a casual preference for them.
