This means that 7 Cubs will have finished in the top 4 of major award balloting over the last 4 years, possibly as many as 9 depending on whether Rizzo finishes 4th in NL MVP and Joe in MOY.

Finally got to watch them last night as whenever they've played there's either been a Cubs game, or I needed a break from sports on a Cubs off day/post-title. Anyways they look pretty good. It's a long season but the Hawks were regularly being abused by teams like the Stars last regular season, and here they just swept a home and home. Looks like the defense is inconsistent but talented and improving. Overall I think a combo of a long offseason for the first time since 2012 and an influx in young hungry players has made the regular season more of a priority for the team rather than a grind to make it to the playoffs.

I hope Dex had a good enough season that he doesn't get screwed by the QO process again if the Cubs choose not to re-sign him.

Cubs brought the WS trophy to the Hawks game tonight. Schwarber, Heyward and Montgomery came out with the trophy and W flag. David Ross participated in the Shoot the Puck thing in between periods.

I just watched a YouTube video that was the final out of the last 65 World Series. It was 13 minutes long and I watched every second watching the Yankees, Dodgers, As, Reds, etc celebrating past titles. The whole time I'm just waiting and anticipating our turn. I get past the White Sox part and realize for the first time it doesn't sting, I get through the Giants 3 titles and then the Royals and suddenly it's there in all its glory. We finally fit in amongst all the past champions. As awesome as the immediate joy of winning the title is, I think it's the little things like this that really make it awesome. All the constant reminders that the world has changed for the better.

It looks like MLB Network is playing every Cubs playoff win right now. On game 2 vs Giants currently Edit: I guess just until game 1 against Dodgers. I guess the rest tomorrow?

I listened to the actual interview. It was weird because the stuff about playing time was completely unprovoked. At first it was just a quick joke about playing time and then a minute or two later he brought it up again and went in detail about his complaint. Silvy sounded shocked and they asked some follow up questions and specifically about whether Chapman was gassed and then he went into that.

What did Miggy say? I missed it. Hughes: He hit the most famous grand slam in Cubs history and he's going to say a few words, Miguel Montero! *Montero dances to the stage* Montero: WE ARE GOOD BOYS! *Montero hops away, arms to the sky* Man I hate to post this to take away from the feel good. And possibly someone already did so sorry if this isn't new But Miggy was on Waddle and Silvy after the parade and complained both about his playing time in the playoffs and of Joe's decisions in game 6 or 7. Apparently Miggy was drunk and let all that slip.

Ya I've been trying to figure out whether to celebrate November 2nd or 3rd as the anniversary every year. I decided it's best to make Nov 2-4 a 3 day party just to be safe. :D What are you guys talking about? The game ended at 11:48 pm CT which is the time zone said team is based in. You don't go by the time zone the game was played in.
