  1. Bears are tied with the Jags for 3rd worst record in football behind the Browns (0-12) and 49ers (1-10). But since the Jags beat the Bears, the Bears hold the tiebreaker for 3rd pick. If they can get the Niners to win this weekend, they will move into the 2nd pick and own the tiebreaker over SF. So that's maybe the biggest story for this game. The second biggest story is how many no-shows for a game between teams with a combined record of 3-19 on a day with highs in the upper 30s and snow in the forecast. Last weekend there were 11k no shows. Could we see 15k empty seats this week? Edit: Nevermind apparently H2H is not a tiebreaker for draft pick order. It should be though. Bears lose the tiebreaker to the Jags by virtue of having a harder SOS. But SF does have a harder SOS than the Bears so if we lose we will at least own the 3rd pick.
  2. So I'm in 2 fantasy leagues this year: League one I am 2nd in the league in points but am 5-7 League two I am leading the league in points but am 6-6 Luckily somehow in both leagues I am in position for the playoffs. In the first league I am tied for the last playoff spot (8 of 12 teams get in) but am scheduled to play the team I'm tied with in a defacto playin game. In the other league, I am tied with 2 other teams for the last 2 playoff spots but there are 2 weeks to go there.
  3. I don't know, I'd think it'd be just as annoying to watch Cubs prospects we have salivated over for the past few years becoming stars down at the G-Spot. I realize this would probably be the worst time in the last however many years to trade their best player to the Cubs but at the end of the day making your team a winner is the most important thing. If the Sox think they can get better players from the Cubs than any other team, they need to make that deal.
  4. lol Jim Bowden proposed this Cubs-Rays trade: http://www.espn.com/blog/the-gms-office/insider/post?id=13396 yes plz
  5. Wow. Just disgusting. I can't bring myself to feel relief with the Bears losing. But I was pretty indifferent. I would have been happy with the win, just because the game was so dumb. Titans could do whatever they wanted offensively and still almost blew the game to Matt horsefeathering Barkley. Of course, SF and Jacksonville may not win another game either. And the Bears play SF coming up. In previous years i would have a hard time rooting for losses, but there is no saving face here. The record is going to look horrific and most of the players that are currently playing are probably not the future of the team. The best possibly outcome is a top 3 pick and a franchise QB lottery ticket. I cannot believe a team with Matt Barkley at QB, some guys I've never hear of at TE, 4 offensive lineman backups and a WR corps of Meredith, Thompson, Bellamy and the other guy I'm forgetting (edit: Wilson) was a dropped pass from a W. Also I missed much of the game, I see in the box score that Royal played but he only had 1 catch and based on listening to the 4th quarter on the radio he was not playing. Did he just suffer his standard injury?
  6. This completely That was the desperate narrative last season, too. It doesn't make it wrong. Who cares about being 3-8 vs 2-9?
  7. For me, Michigan should be ahead of Penn State unless Penn St annihilates Wisconsin similar to what OSU did a couple years ago. At least by score, Wisconsin and Michigan were close. But Penn State winning a conference title doesn't outweigh a 49-10 beating. They lost to Iowa so that argument is moot. Penn State has just one conference loss to Michigan's two. PSU's second loss was a 3 point loss to Pitt back in week two. I don't think the Michigan head to head win holds up if PSU beats Wisconsin Yeah it seems foolish to compare PSU and Michigans resume. Michigan lost on a last second FG on the road to a team that will probably be ranked going into bowls and in a controversial double OT game on road against number 2. They've also beaten both Big Ten Division champs, blowing out one and blew out The potential pac 12 champ who is a top 10 team as well. The only wart for UM (besides the obvious 2 losses and lack of conference title) is that they only played 4 road games and went 2-2 in them without a quality road win (wins over Rutgers and MSU)
  8. Lol I can't see any way 3 big ten teams get in especially when 2 of them didn't even play in the conference title game. I've been seeing Michigan Twitter coming up with scenarios where Michigan gets in but while they seem plausible I'm not going to get my hopes up at all. It's not happening
  9. Yeah after he was attacked by the fan
  10. Maybe my homer goggles are on but I keep seeing the replay of the 4th down. There is no way he got the first down. The only reason it looks close is because of the camera angle. If you focus on where his body is and then imagine the camera even with the 15 yard line, it doesn't look like he gets to 15. Such a shame. Yes I'm still not over it.
  11. Ohio state deserved to lose that game. 2 penalties for 6 yards are you kidding me? What I mean is that Michigan threw two dumb INT, committed a dumb PI, and let someone who was trapped 10 yards behind the LOS dance around and somehow get within a yard. You can't do that and expect to win. Yeah I'm sure there are a lot of rational ways to analyze this game. I'm choosing to go full blind rage with nothing but irrationality.

  13. Top 5 most painful sports defeat in my life. I think he was short by regardless it seemed like every single call went OSUs way from the refs (yes I'm probably a homer). You mean Samuel can dance around the backfield for 30 seconds and not one OSU player holds?
  14. THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES OK I'm prepared for any OT outcome
  15. Jesus Christ if Michigan could just get out of its own way they could win this going away. OSU has done nothing but Michigan keeps letting them back in it. Ugh
  16. We've come a long way from TTs Google Docs spreadsheets yelling at us for putting LaHair at 1B
  17. Also who is Jean Segura? Is that Babe Segura's little brother or something?
  18. Geez Michigan shoots 19.6% from the field (10-52) and 7.7% from 3 (2-26). That was one of the worst sporting events I've ever watched
  19. Court rules in favor of IHSA. I feel bad for everyone involved, its a shitty situation for everyone and I sort of agree with all sides. IHSA would open up a can of worms by changing the outcome of a game based on a ref error. Plainfield North shouldn't have to voluntarily forefit a game that the IHSA determined that they won. And of course Fenwick should absolutely be upset for their kids who actually did win the game and deserve to play a state title game that they would remember for the rest of their lives with pride. But I think this is probably the best outcome overall as much as I'd like to award the game to Fenwick.
  20. The story is getting national...they were talking about it for awhile on Mike and Mike this morning.
  21. I turned on the BTN and saw "Indiana - Fort Wayne" and thought IU was playing an exhibition game against the local NBDL team or something.
