  1. Exact same way although this week the new Beatles XM channel has been on most of this week during my drives instead of sports talk The XM Beatles channel is something of a fraud. I'm not really interested in obscure songs that influenced the Beatles. How about playing songs by the Beatles? Even the ones by Ringo. Agree to some degree. At first I thought it was refreshing to mix in some covers and music influenced by but it definitely happens more frequently than I'd like. They played some ELO song the other day that was nothing Beatle like. Just now they were playing a Peter and Gordon track that was written by Lennon/McCartney so I guess they are stretching the definition of Beatles channel pretty far. But I've heard some deeper solo tracks I've never heard before, some alternate takes of Beatles songs (guessing live at BBC), and I liked the show with Peter Asher they had on yesterday who had some cool first hand stories that I've never heard.
  2. Someone's gonna do an innocuous interview with him and we're gonna find out his favorite TV show is Dexter and this place is gonna burn to the ground. Yeah I know, that show sucked. I'd lose a little respect for him. (Only kidding Ian please don't hurt me I have a family)
  3. I still remember when Jimmy Anderson had a 4 inning save in Houston during the 2004 season, and Andy Dolan of desipio sent a pizza to his hotel room to thank him.
  4. This game in particular felt very 2016 Cubs, some dongers, some great defense, some BABIP luck.
  5. 0-4 with 4 swinging strikeouts on pitches out of the zone
  6. Remember when everyone was ready to DFA Zobrist like 3 weeks ago? His OPS in May is over .900. Not as good as last year's May but I'll take it.
  7. 3 outs away from a 7-2 homestand...I am fine with that.
  8. you can't say he's dong-less until his dong from Tuesday finally lands.
  9. Brisbee is the saving grace of the Giants journalist world
  10. If he's still saying things like crunched after like 4 years of calling an inning of PBP per game, he's never going to get it. Just like Judd Sirrot never quite figured out how to use the right tone of voice for the right situations. He'd scream like the Cubs won the World Series if they got a leadoff double trailing by 5 runs.
  11. I love that I can now love heyward for more than his defense and personality.
  12. He's gotten a bit lucky and looked like he was starting to implode that inning but overall pretty good start from a 5th starter so far. He has a low enough pitch count to go 7 if he's still pitching well
  13. He's turned back into a pumpkin, get him out of there!
  14. If this was the NBA, we'd be signing Cruz and Randle so that they can recruit OBJ to join when he's a FA
  15. I don't know I can't remember if Duke's last article about Schwarber was positive or negative. Whatever it was, I feel the opposite way.
  16. This feels like that offseason we signed Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd to go with an already uninspiring group of WRs. Keep signing retreads and hope they form some semblance of a decent group of WRs. I mean it might work out. Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Victor Cruz, Markus Wheaton, Rueben Randle, Cameron Meredith, Josh Bellamy. If by some miracle White stays healthy and develops like a #1, having Wright in the slot, and some combo of Cruz/Wheaton/Randle/Meredith as the #2 and #3 outside WRs could actually be pretty good. at this point i'd trust meredith to possibly resemble a 1 more than i would white. That's true...I forgot he was actually pretty decent the 2nd half of last year when no one was paying attention. I still think White has the highest ceiling for a #1. He's only played 4 NFL games, so hopefully he can stay on the field and show us something.
  17. I'm not able to watch, whats wrong today? Looks just based on gameday like he has better control today at the very least.

  19. Knowing jersey, the latter is exactly what he meant, as evidenced by KB's recent 3 day bender in St Louis
  20. I'm convinced those are the only 2 stations your car gets. i deal with the dumb hot take stuff (although WSCR is much better about that these days) for hearing the interviews, live talk, etc. sometimes i just want to listen to people talking instead of music (yeah podcast blah blah blah - they're not live but i do listen to a few). i don't listen to 1000 just about ever anymore though. Exact same way although this week the new Beatles XM channel has been on most of this week during my drives instead of sports talk
  21. I guess the Bosio magic only works for a little bit after leaving the Cubs http://deadspin.com/josh-collmenter-has-been-having-a-rough-time-1795540172
  22. Normally I'd like to take joy in the early returns suggesting that we "won" a deal, but I really want to see Soler succeed. Just really like that dude and had high hopes for him.
