  1. First things I thought of too. Didn't remember it was Cora but knew it was a left-handed Dodger. I know the common thought is that the more pitches a pitcher throws in an AB, the more the AB starts to favor the batter for obvious reasons, but has anyone ever done any research on 15+ pitch PAs and what a batters slash lines are when you get to that point? Would be interesting to see. On a side note, I'm still mad at Zobrist taking strike 3 the other day during his long AB after fouling off 7-8 pitches in a row...want to say it was on Sunday.
  2. Well if only 2 starters were going to be consistently good this year, I'd prefer those 2 to be Lester and Hendricks
  3. Total tangent, but some of the team abbreviations in there are bizarre. I've never seen the Cardinals as SLN before. You just never know when the St. Louis Browns are going to make their triumphant return to the American League.
  4. Addy needs to pick it up at the plate. He's always had an abnormally high soft contact rate in his career, but it seems worse than ever this year (which im sure the stats im too lazy to look up will disprove and make me look like a moron). Just gotta keep remembering he's only 23 and at times has looked really good. This current stretch he's in has been particularly difficult to watch though.
  5. yes and the catcher hitting 8th. total dusty type lineup.
  6. I believe this will be the 3rd time in the last 6 games that Schwarber is not in the lineup...all against lefties. Is he becoming a platoon guy or is Maddon just temporarily keeping him from facing lefties until he gets going?
  7. That's what I thought too before Len and Twitter disagreed. Len corrected himself on twitter and called it a Mike Maddux
  8. Yes the game literally ended as if it started at 6 Lester wanted to get the game over with so he could see Rossy win dancing with the stars
  9. The last 3 times Lester has started against the Giants: 9 IP, 1 ER 8 IP, 0 ER* 9 IP, 1 ER *horsefeathering playoff game and Lester threw less than 90 pitches and could have easily pitched the CG
  10. This game might end before a couple of the games that ESPN was showing during the hour long rain delay to start the game.
  11. Maddon you horsefeathering dick, you HAVE to play Javy tonight of all nights. And very strange to see him not in the lineup for a Lester start.
  12. I read somewhere that everyone got a perfect score on their last dance, and in the first dance Ross had by far the lowest score of the 3 finalists. Apparently he's barely kept his head above water, but Cubs fans keep voting him forward. Would be funny if he won it tonight.
  13. Feels like every Monday someone is saying "oh well we can watch BCS now because the Cubs are either in a rain delay or getting stomped
  14. someone the other day posted the White Sox rotation ERAs in 2005 and 2006 and all 5 of their starters had an ERA at least 1 run higher in 06. Feels like that's happening here although Hendricks and Lester have been fine for the most part. Edit: ok not every pitcher had his ERA raised by a run but everyone got worse for whatever reason
  15. Jake used to be such a horse. Now it seems like his command just goes away after 80 pitches or so
  16. Just turning the game on. Has Jake pitched well or has he just gotten good results this far?
  17. Apparently the Brewers are fuming about the postponed game yesterday lmao
  18. Some notes: -Pierce Johnson and LaStella were expected to go down in roster moves for Floro and Heyward -Heyward was in today's lineup playing RF -Happ was in today's lineup -Schwarber was in the lineup but not leading off, Zobrist was instead Some of this might have already been posted
  19. This was the most pointless pre-Finals playoffs ever. Just let the Spurs and Celtics forefit and give the Cavs and Warriors a week to rest up for the first real basketball played this year
  20. good one. he doesn't know how to do that Well at least he's throwing more strikes this year so instead of watching the Brewers walk all game we'll just see them knock the ball around the park. More entertaining that way.
  21. watching the team drop balls, throw them away, etc is goofy enough, even Joe doesn't need more goofy than that.
  22. Well at least we made up some ground this week so this loss only puts us 3 games out. Jake pitch a good game tomorrow plz
