  1. I know right? I'm assuming you're talking about the random "choke you out" part lol? Also, choking people out isn't especially satisfying, for what its worth.
  2. Man, I don't think that's true. Bears had a strong opening quarter, then beat up on Deshone Kizer for a couple series before absolutely [expletive] the bed the entire second half. I'll give you that the QB play was sub-par in the 2nd half and that the play calling was insanely conservative (it seems to be the cross you have to bare when you are leading in the NFL) but other than that, the bears looked really good. The Packers' secondary is above average this year, and you can't blame Trubisky for not wanting to throw into tight coverage when he's up big. You just have to hope that the coaching staff realizes that Cohen needs to be on the field no matter the score and that Trubisky realizes that Robinson is going to win most of his jump balls. He isn't used to having actual receivers. ...and yes, Kizer really, really sucked, but Kizer is basically the definition of a replacement level QB.
  3. Hot take!!!!
  4. i don't think they need head patting from a packers fan right now You say this, but if I were to put odds on the Pack and the Bears making the playoffs, I think it is nearly a pick 'em. I'm loading up on Robinson and Cohen and Bears D as one offs in dfs.
  5. Yeah, as a Packers fan, this is the correct stance. As a team, the Bears looked much, much better than the Packers in this game. The playoffs are still a possiblility for the year. The division doesn't help, but the Bears are a good team.
  6. Today, Deadspin posted one of their Dead Letters segments, where they share some of the hate mail they get, and the response they got for that one is just incredible:
  7. Didn’t he U Turn on Javy pretty hard, too? It’s almost as if he started watching him play a lot more when he was trying to get a Cubs job and realized how good he was. For all the people who were on board with Javy's bat and defensive skills (and I won't include myself here. I was very skeptical), I don't think there's anyone... Javy included... who knew he could change a game with his base running instincts. I think that as this season has progressed, Javy's mindset has changed from "let's try this" to "Man, I can really horsefeathers with these guy's minds. I'm going for it!" He's had a very high success rate, in part because he does know when to push it. He's gone beyond good baseball instincts; his baseball intelligence is off the charts. I don't think intelligence is the right word. He's using the force or something. A less obvious reference is that he has the powers of the cerulean blue pusher guy from the X-Files.
  8. I still took him with pick #3 last night, and made a point to get Conner. I'd be stunned if he held out until week 10.
  9. Yeah, play this season for 10 mil or whatever it is, or pack it in and wait for next season and play for 16 mil or whatever it is he thinks he can get in FA. I think a smart RB would realize the number of carries for which they can be productive in the NFL is very finite.
  10. Yea, as best I can tell, of the whiddled down list, the Bears were the only to offer up 2 number 1s. If there was another team willing, it probably didnt make the cut down of "potentially sucky teams" Based off of some things that Cobb has said recently, I think the other team to offer two first rounders was the Packers.
  11. I can't even imagine experiencing that game without having won it all the year before. As it was it was freaking insane. I was actually playing midstakes limit poker while watching that game. I hit river quads on the river against a higher set just as Davis entered the game. That was intense.
  12. speaking for myself...alcohol. I don’t think I was sober for any of October/early November of 2016 Yeah, I actually got an applause from my (non-Cub fan) office for showing up to a meeting the morning after game 7.
  13. Vulfpeck exit music after 4 runs scored makes a happy me.
  14. Just Spinal Tap fans. Clearly a “Smell the Glove” reference.
  15. That throw to first was nearly as good as that Rizzo gif from last year.
  16. As a Packer fan, I have a LOT more hope for the Packer's D. I think the secondary has a decent chance to be one of the better units in the league. That said, yeah, I'm worried about everything on the offsense that isn't named Aaron, and I think the Bears would have playoff buzz if they were in any other division in the league. -9 also seems insane.
  17. An edge is one thing. 2-1 favs is another thing all-together.
  18. I went to the fangraphs playoff odds site to feel reassured, and sure enough, they have the Cubs as 84% likely to win the division...but then I also noticed that they have the American league around 64% likely to win the World Series, and presumably more if a favorite like the Astros make it. Is their sh1t broken because the bottom half of that league blows to a level they aren't modeling? 64% is cray cray, right?
  19. I don't listen to the radio feed often, but jesus what a brutal team this non-Pat group is.
  20. I know there are some degens out there. I've entered way too many milli makers entries and we aren't halfway through the week yet.
