  1. Q just wanted to put us in our lucky 3-0 down grand slam position. Chill out everyone.
  2. I was of the opinion that Baez > Russell over a year ago, and I remember absolutely no one agreeing with me. On a side note, am I the only one that thinks Squirtle is Baez's spitit animal?
  3. He's only bad at outfield during national broadcasts. He's just fine every other game. The fact that CarGo is somehow third shows how weird UZR is.
  4. Fun fact: the guy in the first row with the white hat on the bottom right is Bill Murray.

  7. I have a dollar in my hand that says he has some kind of proceedure this offseason.
  8. it's spelled goatse, look it up
  9. That's a pretty textbook example of counting the same thing twice. Sure, there is obvious overlap, but they are also clearly two different things. Do you call people out who cite Baez's OPS and WAR numbers in the same breath? Can we all just agree that Bote is a really cool name?
  10. JD is so exponentially better than Brenley. That guy should have his twitter card taken away.
  11. I just assumed that the thread where Bote is referred to as a god would be a place that encouraged (rational) exhuberence. This obvious "hey everyone, did you notice its a SSS?!?" bs should go to Bryant thread or something.
  12. Isn't it pretty well-known that advanced metrics undervalue positional versatility? Or am I making that up Sounds legit. I mean, I don't think WAR values it at all.
  13. Don't get me wrong. I like Beltre, and I would be very, very amused at how often Baez could successfully touch his head and all that comes with that, but you'd have to give SOMETHING up for him, and Bote would play less, and I think Bote is about as good at this point in their careers. Pass. Play Bote.
  14. What the hell?! Bote > Beltre, and you don't have to give up anything to have him play for us. He is on our team, and will continue to be on our team into the future. Play him!
  15. Yeah, I suspect he was fairly sick during most of the post-season run. I thought he was going to die soon or something.
  16. I remember Jose Hernandez being good-to-about-average for most of his Cubs stay? Am I wrong? (I just looked it up. I was rightish. He somehow had a 4.5 WAR season for the Brewers!)
  17. He’s been downright awful.. 5.20 FIP. How has he bounced back this season? His road numbers are encouraging, but there is absolutely no way I would say he’s had a bounce back season. I’m not saying this is a bad deal since we didn’t give up much and Chatwood is terrible. But, Hamels needs to pitch a lot better in a Cubs uniform. There was some pitcher guy that the Cubs were interested in this offseason who had really amazing road numbers. For the life of me, I can't recall how that turned out.
