  1. The air is suddenly less stale and carries a kind of excitement again. Every step I take comes with a bounce of vigor. Smiles come easily to my oft-wary face. Finally I can feel complete. The Cubs have won when I started a game thread! I nearly forgot that it was possible to have to start successive versions of these thingies... Despite not wanting to mess with a good thing, I've decided to move on from Ren and Stimpy. Out of solidarity for a lot of young, female animators who worked for Spumco, I'm continuing on to other beloved animated shows of my youth. Oh. I guess all of my cartoon shows were created by perverts. Explains a lot. I've assumed Nola was pretty good from the get go. I'm sure some day he'll be the 5 WAR starting pitcher I imaged h....he's got a 2.10 ERA and he's worth 5.7 WAR already this year?! Seriously? That's ridiculous. Anyhow, Lester and his 0.7 WAR this year is totally going to pull this one out...because Lester plays for the Cubs, and the Phillies are a group of 40 something softball players who take weekend tournaments overly seriously. They can hit dingers, but make cartoonish errors every other inning. Entertaining stuff though. Glad to see Happ have a day! The way things were going, we weren't too far from having a situation on our hands.
  2. I don't remember that episode, so it probably either never aired, or was a part of that revival it had on MTV much later on (which included that ridiculous log on Stimpy's butt and Ren with the strap on saw.
  3. Don't know who this Elfin guy is. I can't even find him on baseball reference! Is he even a real pitcher? Whelp, this whole Game Thread starting thing has really effected me. There are two losses on the Cubs' record and I only have myself to blame. I've been unable to sleep. I've been grinding my teeth in the few moments that I do doze off. BUT, I've heard tell the Cubs might have a presumed-dead baseball player returning to the team today. I've been drowning in anticipation all morning. Cubs, for my sanity and general health, just win! (Spoilered because this board can't handle the sexual propaganda that 90s tweens were subjected to:)
  4. What a relief. I was certain that handler was going to preform an amputation right then and there.
  5. Petition for game thread starters to do a Ren & Stimpy theme some time.
  6. If I had a nickel for all of the times I heard this in 2015, nickels would be out of circulation.
  7. Almost NFL season: [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]

  9. he kind of spoiled the end of last season I had already seen thhat episode.
  10. I came here to see the final score because I have "a life." This is very refreshing. ...is Len going to give spoilers to Better Call Saul?! Oh, what a tease you are Len!

  12. Like I said before, I'm not used to 2 QB leagues, but based on how they are valued in your league, I think you have to consider keeping three of Brady, Wentz, Smith and Mariota. Also, I know that in keeper leagues that early R1 draft picks aren't as valuable as in standard, but I would at least consider keeping one of Collins and McKinnon and tossing back Zeke, unless you think he's a top 2 RB, which I don't. If it were me, it would be Thomas, Smith, Wentz, Mariota, Collins. I think Zeke's a top 3 RB. He hasn't really been hurt and has been a top back on a per game basis in his 2 years, especially non PPR. Thomas for 9th is a no-brainer. I'd probably only keep 2 QBs, you can always add a 3rd in the draft. Smith and Wentz would be my choices. Collins > McKinnon in non-PPR and I don't like McKinnon's chances of staying healthy with full RB load. I think OP was on the right track. I mean, if you think Zeke is the third best RB (and that's totally reasonable) and I know that Bell is still out there to be drafted...its pretty thin value to be using your pick number five to get who you think should be going at pick three, when INSTEAD you could be getting a QB in round 13 that would otherwise be going in what, round 6? Depending on how much your league trades, you can always trade him...and once again, you might cause a run on QBs when you already have all of your QB needs met! That pays off up and down the draft board for you. I'll put it another way. If you throw Zeke back, who do you think you have to pick from for pick 5? Is that difference in value between unnamed player and Zeke the same as the difference between Mariota and whatever trash is left in round 13?
  13. Bonderman and Colon for me.
  14. Can someone make a Works Progress Administration-style mural of Bote walking off with Cubs doing Cub things at Wrigley in the background? (This is a Win Probability Added reference)
  15. I don't notice players' shoes often, but why does it appear that Zo is wearing green New Balance running shoes?

  17. Fire them and fire Alex Rodriguez.
  18. That is actually a wrestling tradition. Football lasts through November, losing weight over Thanksgiving is the real wrestling tradition/achievement. ...I thought football was something you just watch on TV? (I did play football in HS one season. I started as a WR, broke my finger and couldn't catch the ball, and by the end of the season I was a 125 pound nose tackle. High school football coaches are insanely stupid.)

  20. Would love to hear that you lost 10-15 lbs in October. If anyone loses weight around Halloween, they deserve a medal. That is actually a wrestling tradition.
  21. I mean, lets be fair. Caratini or just about any catcher in the majors right now would be about the same quality as Contreras since the break. He needs extended rest.
