I know we suck and everything, but remember, baseball is dumb and we could still win and go on to win the World Series or something, I don't know. -

Olney mentioned on his podcast today that there is speculation within baseball that Roberts and Maddon could be gone if they get bounced early. Regardless of tonight's outcome, I still find it hard to believe the Cubs would fire a guy 2 years removed from a World Series title and in the middle of a 4 year playoff run. The only way it happens is if the rift between him and the front offense is irreconcilable.I feel like there is a correlary between this idea and the "Flacco is elite" argument, but I can't quite emote it right now.

What does this mean? I'm assuming he means he had such a great AB, lying off pitches and working it to 3-2 when everyone expected him to go swinging at everything, only for the AB to end with him getting a meatball in the strike zone and swinging through it.
