  1. Runs Created Soto-29 McCann-26 Martin-24 Mauer-23 Doumit-22 AJ-22 (and for fun) Yadier-15 Soto also has 5-7% LD% greater than these guys too (McCann is at 15%) Even when he cools off a bit he should remain near the top. I dont have a problem with Soto not hitting to RF, he hits the ball very had and has good power to make that up. Keep on truckin. Plus he is throwing runners out at a great clip - 40%. He is second or third in the NL with, man this hurts, Jason Kendall (46%) ahead of him.

  3. Have fun blocking for AP. Peterson will really help him because defenses will have 8 players in the box all the time. If Tavaris has a decent year, Berrian will have a big year.
  4. I'm fertilizing Bernard Berrian's house tomorrow. If he answers the door, what should I say to him?
  5. Dempster could turn out to be the #2 starter that the Cubs need to go far in the playoffs and reach the WS. Their lack of starting pitching was the only thing that held me back from thinking they could go all the way. But if Dempster can be 15-10 with a 3.75 ERA the Cubs could really go places. I like Dempster's innings to hits ratio like Pat and Ron mentioned today. 58:39 or something like that.
  6. Meh personally I dont know why Lou deserves credit for this move. Melvin was the one who made the move look good by walking him. Personally I wouldve went with Cedeno, who has shown patience this year, that way if Melvin pitches to him, he has a better chance to put the ball in play. Or if he IBB's him, then you still have one of your best hitters still available, instead of being wasted to get IBB. Melvin should have pitched to Soriano and see if he would get himself out like he so often does. Lou makes a good call and he still gets critiqued. Cub fans are never happy.
  7. The pen was worked hard, but Z was held over and they still won. But good job by almost all of the pitchers today. I never thought they would have gotten this game in.
  8. Nice series. For some reason the Cubs play to their competition. Let's hope they defeat the good and bad teams.
  9. Please god tell me this is just a misspelling Ha! Nice catch. So much for the spellcheck function.
  10. Crane Kenny was on the Score today and he clarified a number of things, things you guys probably know but I didn't. If the state of IL buys Wrigley, no tax dollars will have to be used. But if they renovate it, which they will have to, then tax dollars will obviously have to be used. Wrigley's landmark status only applies to the marquis, the scoreboard, and something else which I forgot. It sounded like the actual sale of the team isn't going to be happening anytime soon.
  11. Jerry must not have been too mad at Woody because he gave him two calls that were about 4-5 inches outside
  12. No. What I didn't like is that the Sun Times ran this story on their front page.
  13. Let's not forget that Dempster did get the loss. It is called EARNED run average for a reason. If he didn't earn the run by pitching badly, he shouldn't be held responsible.
  14. The inning should have ended, so Dempster is not responsible for anything that comes after that
  15. So Clemens now acknowledges personal mistakes, but says none of them occurred with McCready. So who else has he slept with? I don't think Clemens had any clue that this much dirt would be surfaced. His lawyer is terrible for going through with the defamation suit against McNamee.
  16. He is such at easy out if you only throw him sliders. Why would anyone throw him a fastball?
  17. The division might be won or lost based on which closer is the least bad. Why isn't he still taking HGH?
  18. That lineup that Hill announced was terrible. My, how things have changed.
  19. When are they scheduled to be back with the Cards?
  20. I thought Lou managed fine last night. Getting Hill out saved the game temporarily for the Cubs. If Marmol hadn't pitched more than one inning last game, he would have come in for Fox. Those who wanted Marmol in the 11th are ridiculous because I bet you are the same people that complain that he is being overused. Plus if the game stayed tied, you would have to use Marmol again, which is dangerous, or use a position player, or use Marquis. The circumstances were difficult and you can't manage the way you do in a 9 inning game. What lost the game was a lack of hitting.
  21. The central is not good? Wait, the central is actually playing decent.
  22. Today Lou said that he was mat at the reporter for asking him the question on Soriano because the reporter knew the answer, but Lou himself said he deliberated. I don't like Lou's treatment of this.
