  1. Did their 1B coach scream just as Lee was catching that pop up?
  2. Yeah, how dare he expect Marmol to throw 35 pitches in the last week! His arm is going to fall off throwing so many pitches!!! But he has to warm up. That is more pitches. When a pitcher is throwing poorly because of overuse, you don't use him more. Plus, he has been in during huge leads. Just unacceptable.
  3. This hurts them too because they aren't getting their work. I hope the reporters nail him on this. Part me of wants to see Marmol give up a homerun just to spite Lou. All that talk about getting Marmol rest is BS.
  4. I am just as mad at Lou right now as I have ever been with Baker. Lou bats Zambrano, then takes him out. Lou uses an overused Marmol four straight games, the last two with huge leads. The pen has plenty of fresh arms. Lou, just because you are managing against Baker doesn't mean you don't have to manage like him. Man I am so mad at him.
  5. I thought he had a great interview last night. He is a humble guy. He said the reason that is is hitting better is that he is swinging harder, he is being more aggressive at the plate. I wouldn't ever throw him a fastball.
  6. From what I heard on the radio today, Hendry did have access to Harden's medical records, but he was not looked at by Cubs' doctors beforehand. He said he trusted the A's medical staff. With Harden's velocity coming down lately (which happens in the course of a season) and Beane's desire to trade Harden rather quickly and with his team still in the race, this is reason for a little concern. But Harden still has to pass his physical in Chicago for the trade to be formalized right?
  7. He has the best ERA on the team
  8. Shutdown lefty reliever is really the only weakness.
  9. Isn't it a little early for that? On paper it's a good trade, but Harden could get hurt tomorrow. Or on August 1, one day after the trade deadline.
  10. Harden injury insurance in Iowa. Let Hill's return bump Marquis from the rotation. As of now, Marshall is better than Hill.
  11. They weren't too concerned because of his injury history. He has been just as hurt as Sheets.
  12. What to do with Marshall? Get rid of Marquis and have Marshall as the number 5 guy?
  13. Murton will be good for a small ball team because most every time he throws down a swinging bunt anyway.
  14. Really? Injury free, Cy Young lefty over an injury prone, but good pitcher in Harden?
  15. I wonder if this trade happens if CC doesn't get moved. Now the Cubs will beat the Brewers and have a better chance at winning the WS. So CC, barring injuries to Harden, might have pushed Hendry and helped the Cubs all the more. Now we need to pick up Ozuna: he hits CC well.
  16. Noah must not have been on him
  17. Maybe Z is a bigger name and they want the big name to start. But the start should go to Volquez.
  18. Edmonds would have shattered into a million pieces. He's in no shape to bowl people over. Oh please. The catcher bears the brunt of the hit usually.
  19. I don't know if this has been talked about, but do you think that Edmonds should have bowled over Molina to try to score in the 8th? Later he called Molina "the best catcher in baseball" which shows Edmonds' fondness of him. Friends don't knock over other friends?
  20. New York said that they might move Marbury and give Duhon a chance at starting. Ouch, but they had to be lying to him. I thought Isaiah's insanity left when he was fired.
