  1. I hate PPR so I don't really know who's good at that.
  2. Seriously? When Erik's calling out your sanity in a game thread, it might be time to take the rest of the season off.
  3. Calling up Adduci would have been a waste. I don't see him being at risk in rule 5, and he's not a minor league free agent (I don't think)
  4. Grant/Brown
  5. I love when people come up with the idea of no preseason top 25. Like they're going to ban the AP from publishing rankings, it's a ridiculous idea.
  6. Prior to 2006, DeRosa was a career role player who was given an opportunity to start in Texas and made the most out of it. That earned im a big contract, that was ill advised at the time. It payed off, and it made Hendry look good. Similarly, prior to 2008, Aaron Miles was a career role player who had a pretty good year last year after getting a lot of playoff time. Hendry thought he could try the same thing, with a smaller contract. We all know how that turned out. Miles was never signed to be a starter, DeRosa was.
  7. Roast fucks up something else.
  8. Hartford would seem to be the best bet, but it's within 2 hours of Jersey, Boston, and New York. There's no chance at survival in the northern New England states, so I'd agree there's really not a great option.
  9. You have absolutely have to expand in Jersey if you expand. I wouldn't mind putting a 2nd team in New England either.
  10. And it goes without saying that wins are a really stupid pitching category.
  11. I think I know what Bruce is getting at...
  12. This is anecdotal evidence. Z is no more prone to the big inning than anyone else. The fact that Zambrano gets all pissy when he does have a big inning makes people remember it. While I don't have any statistical evidence, I think it is reasonable to say that a pitcher who maintains his composure through adversity is more likely to minimize damage in an inning than someone who loses his composure. Depends on your definition of "losing your composure" I've made the post like 10 times on this board about how somebody who loses their composure when things go against them would have an abnormally high # of unearned runs due to melting down after an error is made. Zambrano does not.
  13. Cardinal fans are idiots though.
  14. Yes. I do. Please give me 26 unprofessional situations in the last six years. I want one to start with each letter of the alphabet too.
  15. That's a negative for Minaya but a positive for the media so it's zero sum.
  16. Wright manned up and played meaningless games shortly after a concussion. He's fine.
  17. What makes you think the O's or Mets are going to give up all-star calibre players for non-elite prospects? You're criticizing a trade proposal? I don't think it's likely that either can be pried, but the Mets are broke, and scapegoating everyone, I wouldn't be shocked to see Reyes go for a less than optimal package. Like I said, you explore the possibility, if it doesn't work out it doesn't work out.
  18. A. Would you like me to list in order from A-Z all the unprofessional situations he has found himself in the past 6 years? B. Oh really? Do you know exactly who we could get for him? Are you a baseball executive? C. A personal opinion. I think he is a bum who has never led his team to anything. So you disagree. So what? D. See A-C. A. Yes B. If even you can see he's a bum, why would a baseball executive not? C. Ernie Banks is a bum.
  19. This is anecdotal evidence. Z is no more prone to the big inning than anyone else. The fact that Zambrano gets all pissy when he does have a big inning makes people remember it.
  20. That's why I'm hoping he'd come cheaply.
  21. That wasn't the point. He thought it was a free play, so he audibled to go for the first down. Snapping to the punter does nothing for you, just moves you up 5 yards to punt the ball.
