  1. They're not poor(nobody really is in MLB) Why shouldn't they sign a good player to a reasonable contract just because they aren't a favorite to make the playoffs? To cross-reference another topic that was discussed a few days ago, this is the issue MLB has with tanking, this increasingly accepted thought process that if you're not a good bet to make the playoffs, every dollar spent is wasted, keeping you away from precious losses.
  2. Because the price isn't that expensive, and we seem deadset on acquiring a cheap pitcher.
  3. They can get guys as good as Shelby miller who won't cost nearly as much. Who, exactly? And if they can, why aren't they? he's not very good. just a guy. they've managed to find guys like that just about every year. maybe he's a guy who can consistently outperform his peripherals by as much as he did last year,r. Or as much as he did in 2014. Or 2013.
  4. I think that's how it should go, but I'd bet UNC would take Clemson's spot, and wouldn't be shocked to see Florida or Stanford take Bama's.
  5. I wanted the overturn to burn more clock.
  6. Yeah, quite dumb.
  7. Because if subscribers are falling for cable across the board, which happens to include the preeminent sports channel, you can probably apply the same to a niche sports cable network.
  8. Officials gift-wrapped a FG(making it a 2 possession game) for Bama because their feelings were hurt by Muschamp yelling at them.
  9. In addition to Nunn, Tate's first full game was yeesterday, Hill has been tasked with doing everything in the early going and is holding up and Morgan has been very efficient in his time. (12 points in 8 minutes last night) I'm kinda confused here.
  10. Less than a year after they traded him away for Michael Saunders.
  11. I know what it's supposed to mean but laughed anyway. I wonder who next week's Price favorite will be?
  12. Wow...I wonder if that takes them off of Greinke/Price/Heyward. Naaa...we couldn't be that lucky. http://mweb.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/25388814/inside-baseball-dodgers-chase-stars-as-cuts-may-have-to-wait-more-news Heyman says Dodgers will continue to spend big for now. So it basically comes down to who to believe, Dodgers ownership who has a vested interest in preventing their team from looking like they'll pay anything in negotiations or Heyman who is Boras's mouthpiece and obviously has his own interests.
  13. Bortles, McFadden, Ingram
  14. I think the endgame is to let Ron Guenther decide because central Illinois people are provincial morons.
  15. Couldn't find him on the main page search function. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=cabrer001wan
  16. 1 of those 3 is guaranteed to lose. If Alabama loses to Auburn or Florida, do they really deserve a playoff spot? Absolutely not. I'd probably have them #4 right now as is.
  17. 1 of those 3 is guaranteed to lose.
  18. I would assume it would be one of those glass backed studios for the rubes to stare at with the new network. I'd pay money to throw stuff at Kaplan.
  19. Snead and Waller
  20. Rawls Allen Hyde Bradshaw Ware Coleman
  21. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25734&p=704997&hilit=gutless+choking#p704997
  22. They need to sell the farm and go after Gregg Marshall, pay him as a top 10 coach and give him full control. I also like Archie Miller and Larry Krystkowiack. Give him full control? Like GM and Head Coach? Is this a Kentucky thing?
  23. And Illinois.
  24. I'll take headless Kate Upton.
