  1. There weren't exactly a lot of pinch hit opportunities by the time Montomery took the mound, and Edwards was the last available reliever. But I do think that our bench features enough pop that Joe should consider replacing LaStella or Coghlan with a fresh arm. Though I'd go with Joe Smith, who was absolutely phenomenal after returning from the DL. We got through 12 innings despite using 5 of our relievers(including one who could be a long-man)for a combined 2 innings. We don't need an 8th reliever.
  2. as long as that ops shows up tonight i'd prefer that That's a lot of PAs
  3. this is where you and I clearly disagree. i want Posey's head rolling down the 1st base line showering the crowd in blood after Soler had decapitated him at home plate while taking home from a Addison Russel single to left giving the Cubs a 10-0 lead in the 9th. horsefeathers being nice Just a little more flowery language, and you've got a Sulley post here.
  4. My thought was if you're willing to go to Chapman for 6 outs, then start the inning with him.

  6. It's their 12th consecutive season without a 30 HR hitter.
  7. 6'4' 205-210 is very skinny for a human who has participated in any type of physical activity related to sports. Michael Phelps is 6'4", 195 and I wouldn't call him "ridiculously skinny" Oh, Derwood.
  8. Yeah it probably will be announced during the offseason and not during the playoffs. I think they're still trying to figure out what the right punishment should be. Just speculation on my part, but I believe Manfred can't just take a draft pick away from the cardinals w/o getting approval from the player's union. Maybe with the new CBA they'll discuss new penalties for cheating and unethical conduct by MLB teams (cardinals, Padres) and after the new CBA is ratified they'll punish the cardinals. I imagine it will involve monetary fines and hopefully the loss of a draft pick. The ideal time for it to be announced isn't soon btw...it's announcing it right after the Cubs win the WS or maybe a day after the parade lol Players Union won't care about them losing a draft pick. That won't affect the current members.
  9. What Cardinal fan am I needling that any of the above makes sense to them?
  10. Can we stop with the loser talk in here.
  11. Man, when you see the lineups laid out like that...Go Mets.
  12. We said Moe, Burns was the correct answer.
  13. http://www.sporcle.com/games/teggers/simpsons-characters-most-appearances Appearances do not correlate directly with lines. Milhouse especially is pretty low on lines.
  14. Trivia last night asked which character had the most lines outside of the main family. After deep thought and analysis, we realized we hadn't watched half the seasons and threw a dart.
  15. They give that access to super drugs that all the presidents have to everyone in DC?
  16. Jimenez gave up as many HRs last night as Britton has all season. Britton has given up 1 ER since April.
  17. my reason is way better than whatever his is also i'm glad i'll at least get to watch an hour or so of the game when we pregame/eat at one of the rosemont bars Oh horsefeathers, you have to go to Rosemont for it too?
  18. I guess I was blinded by Trea Turner being the best player in baseball for my fantasy team and Bryce Harper being so dreamy.
  19. I had that except for Washington OF vs. Boston, and lost like 10 WAR. That seems off.
  20. I mean, I don't even understand why this was a question, let alone why Cameron said they were bad. They were coming off an 88 win where the won the West, lost nobody and had some decent prospects, a returning Darvish, and a full season of Hamels. Why wouldn't you expect the Rangers to contend? ETA: Wait, this was obviously from 2014 given the Red Sox reference. Even better.
  21. It helps make it more likely they burn their best pitchers just like the Mets and Giants will do.
  22. Thinking about it now, your best bet is probably just taking the bus north up Ashland will take you within a half mile walk of the stadium
  23. We're thinking of doing the same thing for a wedding (and maybe the NLCS) in mid October. How is the Wicker Park/Noble Square neighborhood right off the blue line? The area is fine, but youre going to have to transfer to another line or a bus to get to Wrigley via public trans
