  1. We tried to go nights and weekends to full season last year and they basically laughed in our fat faces. I don't think you'll be able to switch to bleachers unless there's a host of people that were just in it for the 1st WS.
  2. I'm callin big ol [expletive] on regular season tickets re-selling for 96% above face value this year.
  3. It was on CBS Sports Network
  4. This is easily the most personality I've ever seen from Lester.
  5. Yes this is the year Northwestern breaks through. Them and the Cincinnati Reds young players are going to finally push them over the top.
  6. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/archive/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=56285&hilit=john+holmes&start=75#p2348153
  7. Has anybody pointed out that our reps were Bruce Miles and a guy from the Kyodo News?
  8. I generally like Bilas, but his excuse-making for the officiating was getting bad tonight. No, Jay, the player doesn't need to know how to play with 4 fouls by not chasing somebody around a screen on the chance they flail their arms in the air like a 4 year old when a bee flies by.
  9. Wait NCCubFan showed up??
  10. Warpticon ate a plate full of jelly.
  11. Holy horsefeathering horsefeathers. I don't think I quite appreciated that 1 of his 2 alternatives to soda was apple juice.
  12. Better still, he said it was required to be 90 pages, with 12 of it as the paper and 72 as citations.
  13. I keep wanting to click a heart on that Bum-Pelosi thread.
  14. I was told not to come in if they win...and probably not to come in if they lose.
  15. WHY IS GUARANTEED NOT CAPITALIZED?
  16. It'll either by Kyle or FuckCorey. Kyle because of Kyle Hendricks, and FuckCorey because it was your wife's father's name and she wouldn't let you name your child after the World Series winning starter.
  17. Any realistic option for a dude willing to drink and pony up, but with a teenage son coming along who obviously doesn't drink? Would any of these places allow underage patrons? Otherwise, care to give me a good recommendation on a "family friendly" joint close by? Landed here yesterday. The calm before the storm is eerie. Most(All?) of the bars immediately around Wrigley are going to be 21+ only. I'd give D'Agostino's a call. Just a few blocks down from the stadium. Pizza place, but they're pretty Cub-centric. Should be a decent atmosphere.
  18. For those not aware, the Wrigleyville bars that don't charge covers are going to be madhouses, and if you want to get in(not get a table, but get in), I'd suggest 2 PM Friday, and 10 AM Saturday. If you wanna go somewhere like Murphy's, and they don't charge cover(Unless you're looking to get on TV, don't reccommend), I legit wouldn't feel confident unless I was lined up by 8 AM.
  19. I love 400s, but 500s IF is the better option. My sister had those for game 6, and her view was pretty great.
  20. After spending the weekend in Jersey I have decided: EWR is such a bad airport. Makes ORD look like the Taj Mahal. Ever been to LGA?
  21. The whole, "there were almost no arrests, so nothing really happened!" narrative is pretty hilarious; basically the cops just couldn't even get to most of the horsefeathers going down: http://www.cwbchicago.com/2016/10/cubs-win-hampered-by-crowd-cops-only.html i actually laughed out loud at this sequence of entries: i was down there and it didn't feel unsafe or out of control at all. the dummies were highly visible and easy to avoid Did you wind up making it to a bar for the game?
