    So the Cubs told him he wouldn't get the job. I don't see how someone could take those quotes any other way, especially considering the report that he was nearly begging Theo for the job, and interviewed with St. Louis and didnt get the job. He's saving face I guess. It was all part of Theo's masterplan to make Francona look good by saying he was a candidate and then not hiring him!!! That and trading Chris Duncan.
