  1. I do wonder if any of this is Delaney wagging his dick at ND to give them their last shot.
  2. Well, here's why UM is cancelling the ND series. I would say Purdue probably will too. I can't imagine playing 9 B1G games, Notre Dame, and a Pac-12 team. One cupcake a year? We would never make a bowl.
  3. 20 beer minimum
  4. GO BRONCOS ETA: It looks contradictory because of all the Broncos losses needed to clinch spots, but that's only a safeguard to take Oakland out of the picture. (If Denver loses Oakland can't win the wild card. They're either out or the West champ)
  5. If someone's just looking for profit, there are much much better ways than a sports franchise. They do make money, but for these mega-rich guys, owning a team is more a bucket list type thing. Bucket list type things are sailing to Tahiti, owning a sports franchise may be an ego thing, but it's extremely profitable. The Cubs were sold to the Tribune Co. in 1981 for $20.5 million and then sold to Ricketts for $900 million in 2009. If you know a better way to make that much profit, let me know. Some of the worst owners in sports end up selling for a lot more than they paid for a franchise. I'm not arguing that the value of the Cubs isn't much greater now than 1980, but to give it some context, the stock market was at 759 in 1980. 759 to 12099??? brb, putting all my money in the stock market.
  6. Occupy Roast Street
  7. Why is the ND game on at 4:30 tomorrow??
  8. I feel like the Seinfeld quote about write-offs is getting overdone, but [expletive] if it's not needed A LOT

You'd think with their investment expertise, they could have avoided such a fate. Should've bought more sports teams

  11. I went to Oxford this year, had an incredible time. If you plan on tailgating, be aware that it's not the typical tailgating. No cars/trucks/trailers, it's nothing but open grass. Get yourself a tent/canopy thing and go claim your spot the night before. (9 PM I think?) People dress nice for them as well, khakis and a polo should do it. OMC can probably help a lot more than I could.
  12. I mean he's better than Francesca, but really??
  13. Considering the circumstances, it's better than I could have hoped for Probably b/c it's not going to happy. I love that espn is making PSU look even worse. Munchak is the current target, even though he already told PSU that he's not interested. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7395510/report-mike-munchak-tennessee-titans-penn-state-nittany-lions-top-coaching-choice Maybe they can get Danny Hope.
  14. HR or RBI among players with 120 or more Ks
  15. They led by 3 at home with a minute and change left, against a Boston team without Paul Pierce. Are you implying they won't go undefeated? I'm saying we're pretty good.
  16. WTF was he doing?? If that was the shot with 2 seconds left it would still blow, but at least it wouldn't give Minnesota a chance. Why in the [expletive] are you shooting a run up 3 pointer with 8 seconds left? You're a 5th year senior, not Alex Legion
  17. They led by 3 at home with a minute and change left, against a Boston team without Paul Pierce.
  18. I'm saying the second they stepped on the field, all hope was lost against the mighty Chiefs.
  19. The program clearly bottomed out with the season that shall not be named. Since then, recruiting has been where it should be (or better) for Illinois, on the court they've been a 5 seed(24-10, 11-7, 24 KenPom), a tournament snub(21-15, 10-8, 53 KenPom), and a 9 seed (20-14, 9-9, 18 KenPom). '08-'09 was a success, '09-'10 was a disappointment, '10-'11 was a failure. Considering where the program was at that time, that's still bad, but not horrific. The problem is whether the program has plateaued on the court. This team will be back in the tourney this year, but if we're looking at an 8 seed on Selection Sunday, and see no better on the horizion for '12-'13, nothing short of a Parker or Okafor(or choose your recruit du jour) commit should be enough to save Weber's job.
  20. Ah, didn't realize that. I, admittedly, did not look at or take schedules into consideration at all. Also consider how awesome our coach is at Big Ten games since Dee Brown and James Augustine left campus over 7 years ago. I think he's only finished below 5th once. That shouldn't be the standard, but a 7th place finish isn't exactly the norm for him. ETA: The NonCon has really been the problem for Weber, far more than the B10 season. He's .500 since 06, I'd say that's a problem at Illinois. Who said it wasn't? I even put "That shouldn't be the standard" for the sole purpose of avoiding this response from you.
  21. Brees didn't play at all in the 4th against the Colts, was out with 12:50 left in the game against the Vikings, and was out of the game with 10:41 left against the Giants. Rodgers was out against the Broncos with 7:46 left, out with 10:59 left against Vikings, and didn't play the entirety of the 4th against the Raiders and was out of the 4th against the Bears. So that's not a very valid argument. And this talk about running the score up in the Colts game...hell the Saints didn't even attempt a pass in the entire 4th qtr. In the Vikings game they only attempted one pass after 12 mins left. Brees also was in the game when his team was trailing and no shot at winning. See the Rams game. He kept his TD streak alive with a meaningless late 4th quarter TD. Well Rodgers played the entire Chiefs game which they had no chance of winning

  23. At least we avoid a trip to Breslin. Literally the only good thing about the schedule.
  24. I say that without looking at schedules, so that may shift. The Big Ten seems to have a hell of a lot of 6-11 seed teams this year, with everyone beyond OSU and MSU having obvious flaws. Indiana is the only one to be really impressive in noncon, and I think they wear down. (Not to mention they have a brutal start, and it will be interesting to see how they bounce back should they start 0-3)
