  1. So Verlander with the 3 inning save tomorrow?
  2. I have to imagine the Marlins offseason plan is tying Chen's contract in full to somebody else. Those 2 contracts become 3/81 + 2/29 for Yelich in 21/22. I'm not sure what else they want, but that certainly takes away a lot of the value of the contract. Ed. Corrected year on Yelich.
  3. I don't know if you caught my edit or not, but it's basically your 2nd point.
  4. The celebrities who played themselves weren't the focus of the show, usually there for literally one joke, then or in any of those earlier episodes. Baldwin/Basinger were co-stars of their episode. There was also a very Austin Powers Goldmember (has to be a better analogy) type usage where the existence of the celebrity themselves was apparently supposed to be funny. The tennis episode might have been my breaking point. Oh look it's the Williams sisters, isn't that crazy!
  5. Guest stars as themselves
  6. While you should definitely drop absolutely everything you are doing and mainline at least the first 6 seasons right now, it will probably never have the same impact as growing up with comedy perfection in real time. FALSE. And really, seasons 3-8. Season 2 was uneven, but had some amazing episodes. Simpson and Delilah Dancin' Homer Bart the Daredevil One Fish Two Fish Blowfish Bluefish Oh Brother Where Art Thou Lisa's Substitute Three Men and a Comic Book
  7. You're pretty old though.
  8. I felt oddly calm and confident about game 5
  9. Phil Mickelson is a hero.
  10. I could see the White Sox spending big on pitching. Their rotation is a mess.
  11. 5 Simeon recruits in the last 20 years. 0 in the top 50. However will we survive.
  12. He only called it that because it was founded by a cow.
  13. I'm not sure Chris Bosio isn't Ron Gardenhire.
  14. Who would be the option if Hickey for whatever reason chose the Giants? Chris Bosio.
  15. the Dodgers not getting an 11-1 postseason edit: i'm a great jinx One of the Reds teams from the 70s went undefeated in the playoffs, didn't they? Yeah, '76 Reds went 7-0.
  16. For what? the Dodgers not getting an 11-1 postseason edit: i'm a great jinx The '99 Yankees did it as well.
  17. How about Glasnow as a back of the pen rehab project? ETA: I assumed he was out of options, and kept hearing how frustrated the Pirates were with him. Both of these things may be untrue.
  18. Had to make room for David Ross.
  19. I would guess he'd bring back the least(assuming we're limiting this to Schwarbs, Almora, Baez, Happ)
  20. I can only assume his July was occupied with writing articles how the Cubs should be sellers.

  22. man. i know maddon is an old dude but he just does not seem like the oldest manager in the league. i guess there are a ton of young managers out there though. There's a bunch of guys just younger than Maddon, too. Bruce Bochy - 62 Ned Yost - 62 Brian Snitker - 62 Buck Showalter - 61 Paul Molitor - 61 Bud Black - 60 Clint Hurdle - 60 Ron Gardenhire - turns 60 next week Mike Scioscia - turns 59 next month Terry Francona - 58 You'd have to give me about a dozen guesses to figure out who Snitker manages
  23. Dusty turns 69 next June, I think he's done.
