  1. Sidestepped the ball and whiffed on it.
  2. He's missing this. 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966 Boston Celtics What Happened: There were only 7 other teams in the NBA The Footnote: There were only 7 other teams in the NBA The Verdict: There were only 7 other teams in the NBA There were 8 other teams in 62, 63, 64, 65, and 66.
  3. Taunting 2 fat people having sex in a bush was #1 for me.
  4. McLaurin's tweet announcing it:
  5. It's not like he has 12 million either when you take into account taxes, agent fees, etc. Prior's at a higher tax bracket, but I hate when people deduct taxes from salary only for higher income people or the lottery. The guy making 30K isn't really bringing home 30K either.
  6. I bid two bits you probably pay like 5 grand for a shave and a haircut, so soul is in luck You know I don't pay for haircuts.
  7. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2012/ballot.jsp Well aren't I the [expletive] then. I thought it was opening day starters only? In general it is opening day starters. But I think injured vets take precedence, especially ones who have made past appearances. LaHair wasn't our opening day starter, either. Oh you can all go [expletive] yourselves
  8. God, the 2nd Dodgers bankruptcy is going to be even more fun than the 1st.
  9. Your general point is right, but Howard won't be on the ballot. LaHair will end up around 7th. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2012/ballot.jsp Well aren't I the [expletive] then. I thought it was opening day starters only?
  10. Yeah, the sooner Rees is gone, the better.
  11. Josh Vitters make you cry? Vitters had the pedigree to go where he did. Moskos was another in a long line of the Pirates being the Ed Creech Pirates
  12. Why wouldn't you want one of our best players healthy for next season? Given the current landscape of the Eastern Conference, we could still have a chance at the #2 seed even with Deng out until December and Rose coming back at some point. Who knows what happens between now and then, but I have a hard time seeing the Bulls getting the 2 in that scenario. (Not that they should really be concerned with that. Get your best players healthy, and prepare for the playoffs. Would be interesting if they dropped down to the 4/5 game and were slotted to take on Miami in the semis. There'd be some interesting tanking/busting your ass of games down the stretch to get out of that top half of the bracket. I know the Celtics will be a year older and worse. oooooook?
  13. Bryan LaHair has a long way to go before he matches what Corey Patterson did in the majors before hurting his knee. Talk to me when he gets there. Or since hurting his knee.
  14. Your general point is right, but Howard won't be on the ballot. LaHair will end up around 7th.
  15. No season has ever had 3 >1.200 OPS hitters 97 rockies had four .900+ players 04 cards, 96 mariners had three 1.000+ players I should clarify my point. Not saying no team has ever had 3 1.200 OPS hitters in a given season. I'm saying no season ever has had 3 1.200 OPS hitters across the league.
  16. It's the uncle I was just talking to yesterday, who thinks Darwin Barney is the pinnacle of "what the Cubs need more of" and who still bemoans the loss of Theriot. What do you do in those conversations? I used to get all riled up and want to argue when I was younger. Now I'm just all like, "Heh. Yea. How about that." Basically. He's of the ilk that loves to jokingly rub it in when a player he thinks I "hate" has a good game or a good stretch or even turns out to be generally productive, like I'm going to be furious that someone is playing well for the Cubs. There's really not much you can do that won't escalate to an argument so I just roll with it and let him keep providing me with choice free tickets. SHARESHARESHARE

  18. If those things all happened, we'd probably win like 120 games. I like where your head is at. Being a bit conservative there, aren't you? Probably. Has a team ever had 3 >1.200 OPS hitters? No season has ever had 3 >1.200 OPS hitters

Depends how big an [expletive] they are about it. If they won't shut the [expletive] up and keep insulting people, then I start arguing. (Also helps if I'm drunk at the time)
