  1. http://www.businessinsider.com/tim-tebow-mocks-brady-quinn-2012-6#ixzz1yxIcBSFl There's a decent chance that if this were to develop it would be the most discussed feud of backup quarterbacks in the history of the league. I'm still holding out hope that someone sacrifices Tebow in a religious ceremony in the very near future. That seems excessive.
  2. Now I really hope somebody punches him in the throat.
  3. Those pictures are both terrible. I've seen her around town, truly breathtaking.
  4. I have an issue with listing 2 Blue Jays as superior 3B when they've combined for 12 innings at 3B this season.
  5. Who will have three years of service time and has apparently plateaued into what he's going to be. That being [expletive] terrible.
  6. Thomas Robinson is high ceiling??
  7. He hasn't been hurting for cash since high school.
  8. Warm, pungent Rizz.
  9. I [expletive] hate that guy.
  10. There's nothing confusion about her looks. She's hot.
  11. I think Beal and Kidd-Gilchrist will be better than Davis
  12. Why would you ever expect consistency from a meatball? "At least the fanboy owner is happy with his McDonald's and his new park in Mesa while he counts his millions. Turns out boy genius Theo was a lot more boy and a lot less genius. It's really too bad those of us who are true fans have to sit by and watch a bunch of never wases out there failing to get a bunt down and not hustling out of the box."
  13. You can let Rizzo, Vitters and Jackson come up and struggle while still at least trying to put decent players at other positions. Why the hell is Bryan Lahair your starting LF? He's been awful for quite some time now. Maybe it's time to stop pretending he has a chance of being something. April .390/.471./.780 May .253/.343/.448 June .222/.276/.426 I don't see anything wrong with his May numbers myself. Yeah, he's had a very bad June. But his season should be looked at as a whole, not month by month. If he's worse in July and August than he's been in June? Sure, we need a LF. But, if he even puts up May numbers for the rest of the year, then we don't. Granted, he could be dealt at some point and we grab a LF in FA anyway. But, for now, with Soriano almost definitely on his way out, LaHair is our LF. Months themselves are arbitrary endpoints, so what happens if we do something very simple like have April extend thru May 3rd? April: .388/.468/.821 May: .241/.333/.380 June .222/.276/.426 LaHair is Hoffpauir incarnate, we need him on another roster as soon as possible, and if we can't unload him, he's a bench bat. So, in a season where we have extremely few assets to begin with, you wouldn't rather see if we can build some value in the guy, than casting him off for next to nothing right now? Goldstein, Badler, Law, all those guys think he can hit. If he's in a slump and comes out of it, he's worth a lot more. If he doesn't, what have we lost right now? This season is to see if he can build some value and we don't have better options right now anyway. I find it very strange that you're more anxious to trade away Garza than you are LaHair.
  14. His career should be looked at as a whole. And his career says they'd be stupid to make him their opening day starting LF in 2013. Fine, we'll go with Dave Sappelt then!
  15. Does the fact that Rick Porcello [expletive] blows help our chances?
  16. You never heard of Chuck Garfien? He was probably the most well known "talent" to originally join CSN Chicago, as he was an ESPN and ESPNews anchor for a few years before going to CSN. He's all over the White Sox beat now. I'd never heard of him until CSN. Showtime Schanowski was the big name for me.
  17. It's ok though because by the end of 2013, we can trade away all our good players again and get some more mediocre prospects in return. I wanted to be like the Billy Beane A's, but not the Billy Beane A's of the last 5 years.
  18. He was pretty much a lock top 10 last year.
  19. Really? I see it coming. Hoyer and Theo have both said the youngsters are going to have to experience growing pains and they need to be given a longer leash, to see if they can overcome the obstacles. They've hinted at watching the them struggle and it'll be that much better once things start to click. Personally, I could see that team winning more games than this current one, but admittedly, it's out there to get a top 3 pick and huge IFA money for 2014. That team will lose 115 games and the fanbase will turn on the ownership, front office, Roast, en masse. It'd be a [expletive] disaster.
  20. I'm quitting baseball if the Cubs run out a team like davell just posted next year.
  21. I'd say our 22 year olds are pretty decent, too. Rizzo, Vitters, Lake, Szczur, etc. If either Vitters or Lake could become something close to Headley, especially his road splits. I think we'd all be thrilled. We do have some guys that will be ready to help as soon as 2013, but not enough in terms of quality or quantity that they'll be able contend without some significant external additions. I completely get where Theo and Jed are coming from in not signing free agents to ridiculous contracts or giving up too much in trade, but that doesn't mean that they should just pass on every option that will require spending or trading prospects. This being said, I like Headley and while he would cost a package of 3 young players or prospects, he's not an elite talent and would not require mortgaging the future. As I recall, in the winter when we were in talks, or at least rumors of talks for him, 2 name that came up were James Russell and Darwin Barney. If he were to cost those 2 plus one top 10-15 prospect with us getting one of their top 25-30 back as well, would anyone object? Yes, The San Diego Padres. Why wouldn't it work for us? Russell is our best reliever but he's far from Dennis Eckersley. Barney looks to be a productive player for years to come, but nothing special. As for a top 10-15 from our system, obviously, it wouldn't be a pitcher, because if our 2013 were to be put together today I suspect that the only pitcher on the list would be Maples who I woudlnt give up for him. It would probably include in no order Jackson, Soler, Baez, Almora, Vitters, Lake, Szczur, and perhaps be rounded out by Candelerio and Amaya. Who outside of that group would we refuse to part with for Headley? I also wonder if Volstad would interest him. Petco would be a far better place to reinvent himself than Wrigley. THE PADRES WOULD OBJECT BECAUSE THEY'RE GETTING TERRIBLE VALUE IN RETURN
  22. I'll have what you're drinking/smoking. I don't think you could get 1 guy in the top 80-100 range for him. Unless we're talking about really young high ceiling guys, most teams hope that a top 75-100 pitcher becomes Travis Wood. Yes, so let's trade for one.
  23. Wasnt that the point of not bringing him up until now, and not 2 months ago? Yes
